Last night, at least a dozen mainstream media reporters were wined and dined by members of Team Trump and given talking points to parrot leading up to, and during, the debate he isn't at...

🧵Let’s see how their coverage has gone today: Image Up first, @DanaBashCNN. Hmm, this doesn’t seem suspicious at all!
By the way, who decides where the "spotlight" shines? Does the media not make decisions about whom they cover and how? Image

Today, the New York Times published a Forbidden Fact.

It only took them THREE YEARS.

Now, where does @GovRonDeSantis get his apology?

🤔🤔🤔 @GovRonDeSantis Ah well, the conclusion of the NY Times article answers my question:

You open-border advocates live in a bubble & IDEALIZE 3rd world nations, like everyone who lives there is an angel — so they can all come & live here unvetted.

I’d LOVE to see what happens if an American liberal shows up in a foreign country without required documentation. I say this as an American, daughter of an immigrant, and I’ve lived half my adult life in foreign countries including places where a lot of refugees come from. I’m for genuine political asylum seekers, but I know how even our “legal immigration” system is abused by bad people.

Underrated aspect of Martha’s Vineyard meltdown today: The funding for transporting illegal aliens to sanctuary jurisdictions was a highlight of the budget @GovRonDeSantis signed MONTHS ago. Dem legislators performing outrage today voted for it 🤡

Promises made, promises kept. Always one step ahead 😎

Of course it’s fake. The clip of DeSantis is from 2020 when he was responding to a question about Florida police executing a felony search warrant at the home of a fired state employee who had a documented arrest history of physical violence against police. The subject of that 2020 warrant, Rebekah Jones, was home when FDLE/TallahasseePD knocked on her door. They waited patiently outside for 25min while she yelled at her husband to “call Chris Cuomo” & setup her camera to capture a BIDEN HIRE ME sign in the background of the “raid”

Hi @jackshafer! FYI, you are wrong about the reason @GovRonDeSantis doesn’t talk to liberal media, including Politico. He isn’t worried about “negative press”; you’re always negative.

It’s just that he doesn’t care.

And he doesn’t want to give you clicks or ratings. As a media reporter for Politico, I am sure @jackshafer understands why we wouldn’t “cooperate with the New Yorker”. @GovRonDeSantis giving them an interview would’ve allowed a liberal activist to break news, self promote, and make money off #DeSantisForClicks. We aren’t playing.

The White House @PressSec & @McClatchyDC are both spreading disinformation. NOTHING has “reversed” or changed. The State of Florida is not placing any orders of covid shots for 0-5 year old babies & kids. What they have couched as a reversal is actually the Governor’s steadfast position that the State of Florida does not recommend nor distribute shots for babies. Any healthcare provider that wants the vaccines can obtain them and any parent who wants it for their child can get it.

In addition to the obviously biased framing here, @washingtonpost AGAIN made a factual error that is easily checked. The FY 22-23 budget recently signed by @GovRonDeSantis is NOT $101.5 billion. It's easy to find the actual number. 30 seconds on Google. What are reporters for? Also, @washingtonpost - Gov. DeSantis was asked on Friday why he vetoed the Rays facility funding, and he responded that taxpayers shouldn't be funding professional sports stadiums. This is his long-held position; any real fiscal conservative would say the same thing.

I’m still blocked, so I can’t respond to Gregg’s tweets about me, but I stand by what I said. Gregg is notorious for constantly & vehemently attacking the Great Barrington Declaration & its signatories. The whole point of GBD was to oppose lockdowns. Hence, Gregg is pro-lockdown Here’s a receipt, in case anyone is curious. Gregg thanks Francis Collins for attacking the GBD.

This insane article is in @sciam. The person who wrote it, without a hint of irony, is a *professor in public health* at the University of California-San Francisco. She does not know what a “normal distribution” in statistics is. I am no scientist but learned that in high school. Here’s the full article archived, for those who can’t believe that it is real: archive.is/RiBtr

Since when does a powerful elected official, who is credibly accused of sexual harassment and abuse of power, get "space and privacy" from the Florida political media?

Oh, since he's a Democrat

And the Florida political media is the Democratic Party comms shop I will reiterate my appreciation for @TDOnline for actually doing their job and reporting on a story that is absolutely newsworthy for the people of Tallahassee and Florida as a whole. If the rep was a Republican I'd say the same thing, the evidence is what it is.

Florida Democrats always lose and will lose worse than ever in 2022. Mostly because Florida has the best governor and leadership. But also because most Florida political journalists have coddled Democrats & refused to hold them accountable for anything for years, making Dems weak Just from the past week:
- Florida’s presumptive Dem AG nominee was at an abortion rally with Satanists & a Dem state legislator
- Florida’s incoming Dem house leader was credibly accused of sexual harassment & abuse of power

… radio silence from @politicofl @Fla_Pol 😌

Oh hey, it’s the Comms Director for Florida House Democrats! Are you guys “utterly embarrassed” that your incoming leader, Rep. Ramon Alexander, stands credibly accused of sexual harassment & abuse of power? Care to comment on that? Image Beginning of an incredible in depth report from @TDOnline today… Any comment @JaxPeel 🫣 Image

If you’re wondering why @Fla_Pol, @politicofl & other misfit libs are having spasms about me today, it’s because news of a sexual harassment & corruption scandal — involving the pro-CRT state rep in line to become the top Democrat leader of the Florida House — just broke today. Read the story here. There are receipts: tallahassee.com/story/news/pol…

Very interesting that @washingtonpost obsessively reports on Tallahassee politics when they can elevate whatever Democrat is trashing our governor on any given day. But when a negative story breaks about the same Democrat, the Washington Post is silent.

We see you. ImageImage @washingtonpost Hi @timcraigpost want to explain these editorial decisions? How do you decide what's relevant to cover in Tallahassee? Is it just "Let's write about whatever helps Democrats"? Because that's what it looks like.

This is wild. I hadn't seen it. Florida Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith questions whether communism has actually killed anyone. Again, this is Florida, so a number of the people in this very room -- his colleagues -- have relatives who were killed by communists. It probably goes without saying, but Rep. Carlos Smith is a Democrat, and Rep. Tom Fabricio is a Republican (he represents a large Cuban community, Hialeah in Dade County)

This @TravelLeisure "Best Beaches" list is blatantly Florida-phobic. Everyone who has been to Florida knows how beautiful our many beaches are. There are some nice beaches on this list from other states, but some real head scratchers too... @TravelLeisure Minnesota? Michigan? New York City? You can't even go to the beaches there most of the year because it's too cold!

I’m 2 chapters into Minister of Truth Nina Jankowicz’s book, and she’s arguing that we should censor the internet to protect women from mean tweets. She shares the story of her friend, who went on an exotic vacation to Thailand to recover from “online abuse.” Then, Minister of Truth Nina Jankowicz tells the story of another online friend who writes for the New York Times. This woman scaled back her twitter use because of “abuse” (criticism of her journalism). She still writes for NYT. We are supposed to believe she’s been “silenced”?

THREAD 🪡 Analyzing corporate media bias in reporting on @GovRonDeSantis, this time from the New York Times (Patricia Mazzei)

Conservative orthodoxy, one that voters could very well ratify this fall.”

This is the definition of democracy…where are her defenders?
“Dystopia” 😂 The left wants you to believe that Blade Runner was based in Florida not California.

I don’t want Twitter to ban people I disagree with. I want Twitter to STOP banning people for questioning the narrative. Bring back the marketplace of ideas. Have some ground rules & enforce them regardless of right/left: No spam bots, threats of violence, or calls for genocide. Other ideas that might improve Twitter:
- Crack down on scammers
- Set clear requirements for verification; verify everyone who meets those requirements. Should be as simple as proving their identity.
- Restore accounts banned for “disinformation” that turned out to be true

I hear you. And I agree nobody should be abused or disrespected due to their orientation, identity etc. The issue here is teaching kids that people can be “born in the wrong body.” This is an ideological (not factual) statement that directly conflicts with many parents’ beliefs. Gender dysphoria is real. People who experience it shouldn’t be mistreated, they need help & support. But jumping to the conclusion that all of them were “born in the wrong body” & need swift medical interventions is not the answer.
