Maybe you’ve wondered what a caribou “maternity pen” is? Well, this is yet another one of my zero narrow, niche expertise. So, let me share it with you! 🧵 First, mountain caribou are endangered. Human changes to the land and climate have altered predator prey dynamics and now wolf, bear, cougar, and wolverine predation is taking a toll on caribou, precipitating declines and total loss of >10 populations already.
