How soul sucking, boring corrective exercises are a waste of time.

Are how they are just a label so you depend on a therapist.

Here's how early on in my career I wasted hours on trying to 'fix' & 'correct' movements.
And my new approach to movement.

THREAD For the first 5 years of my career, I would obsess over finding asymmetries and nit picking certain movement deficiencies.

This is what we were taught to do.

How many of you have heard the following sayings?

Feeling an overwhelming gratitude towards those I have been lucky enough to work these last 6 months.

The willingness to learn & entrust their health in me is a huge honour that I will never forget.

You are all a part of what I see as the future of injury rehabilitation. @DeFi_Danny_ is knocking out tempo runs with ease, even 4 weeks out from expecting a child is crushing training into his 30s.

Perfect father figure for his soon daughter.

How to hack and rewire your relationship with pain forever.

(THREAD) Why humans SUCK at gauging pain

Pain is something we describe terribly. We also categorize it woefully.

We know its there, how know vaguely how debilitating it is, but we cannot describe it objectively what so ever. Much like our other emotions.

In Pain?
Had years of issues?
Have no idea what your injury even is and the path to getting better?

This is no longer the case.

The past 12 months I have worked tirelessly to curate the most common pitfalls of the health system.

And why it fails. Pain in a 400 Billion dollar industry, and a broken one at that.

If you rely on massage, you have no autonomy over your health.
If you don't understand your injury, you have no autonomy over your health.

If you have only ever given a plan specific to your site of injury?

Experience is always the best teacher.

Below is my rehab horror story, which has shaped the way I do things today with everyone I work with. 7 Years ago I was playing football at the highest level and trialling at numerous professional clubs in Australia.

On an extremely wet day, I landed heavily on an outstretched arm.

I dislocated my shoulder, put it back into place and continued on with the rest of the game.

The Gamblers Gene.

Do you:
- Love gambling?
- Taking extreme risk in business & personal life?
- Find what others find 'exciting' very mundane?
- Find the 9-5 lifestyle a literal death sentence?
- Hate being in 1 place?

THE Dopamine D4 receptor gene (DRD4-7R) WHAT IS IT?

Dopamine is a chemical that binds to receptors in your nerves.

The variant DRD4-7R causes less binding of Dopamine.

Therefore what others find extremely rewarding, someone with this defect will see it as mundane.

Taran came to me as he felt completely lost when it came to training specifically for Muay Thai & Boxing.

He was also playing football, so had a variety of goals that were being limited by a nagging knee pain. Taran being from the UK meant:

- Constant lockdowns
- Having to be extremely creative with workouts
- Having to switch between home & gym based workouts week to week.

Even with all of these set-backs, Taran's punching power and sprint speed skyrocketed.

Why your shoulder blades HATE barbell pressing.

Why some people can get away with an infinite amount of barbell overhead bench and over head pressing.

1 size does not fit all, so stop training this way. The shoulder blade has a structure called the ACROMION.

There are 3 main genetic types that someone has.
TYPE 1: Large Space for the rotator cuff and tendons to pass through

TYPE 2 & 3: Significantly Less space for these structures to pass through.

-Why what you have done in the past hasn’t worked
-Why you have been misled for decades
-Why you are still in pain & feel stuck

And what you NEED to know to change your mind set on rehabbing an injury FOREVER…. WHAT EVEN IS AN INJURY?

The bodies inability to tolerate a certain stress or force, that everyday life has exerted upon you.

This could be getting tackled, or reaching to the top shelf..

That is it. This causes damage to cells, and the healing process begins.

My Physiotherapy clinic has mandated the vx to work.
In other words, I am now unemployed.

I have thrown away a 6 year body of work, for something I believe in.

Below is a story that aims to spread awareness to the atrocities in Australia.... WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?
Every single industry now has mandatory vx requirements.

You have a 'choice', but that choice means no job, no ability to pay off debt & you can't feed your family.
The level of economic coercion has reached levels that are disgusting.

Why your shoulder range sucks...

And why it may have nothing to do with your shoulder at all.

Read more to learn.. The Shoulder is comprised of:

1- Ball and socket joint (glenohumeral)
2- Shoulder Blade (Scapula)
3- Mid Back (Thoracic spine)

You can have a perfectly functioning shoulder joint, but if 2 & 3 are stiff, your range can be affected greatly.
