Remember that @AWCanada inside of St. Vital Center that got shut down by Manitoba Health? Predictably, that ended up lasting just that weekend and part of the Monday after. Beyond then, no evidence remained. If you'll allow me the time, let's talk about how that's problematic. An image of the A&W restaurant inside of St. Vital Center in Winnipeg, taken on October 21, 2025, showing the leftmost part of its menu board and an order tracker screen showing one order in progress and one order that is ready. This was one day after Manitoba Health allowed it to re-open on October 20th, after it had been ordered shut down on October 17, public reasons being: "As an operator, fail to take effective measures against the entry and presence of rodents. Did prepare food under insanitary conditions. Fail to ensure food contact surfaces are clean and sanitized and protected...
A close-up image taken the same day, zoomed in on the cover surrounding their fountain drink machine which reads "OUR ROOT BEER GUARANTEE: made with NATURAL CANE SUGAR & ALL-NATURAL FLAVOURS", adjacent to a couple of payment card terminals on either side. There is a torn up white piece of paper on its top right corner covering part of that text, which is the only remaining physical evidence of the recent closure order that Manitoba Health put up to advise would-be patrons of the A&W's forced closure.
The same A&W a couple of weeks later, this time as seen on November 9, where the torn up closure order remnants appear to have been totally removed as if it was never put up to begin with, almost definitely involving some type of a cleaning/adhesive removal agent. This time, the order monitor screen shows 4 orders being marked ready, and the menu boards appear to be promoting a Teen Burger combo promotion for $10 & tax. There is also a pile of mostly red colored dining trays off to the left, with a couple of black colored trays about 33% and 66% of the way into it.
Many major municipalities elsewhere within North America such as New York, and LA County, mandate that restaurants put up some type of grade in a prominent position. New York uses a letter grading system, as does LA County.
