Angry RANT:
Since it was confirmed that @ryanjespersen was fired by @630CHED, I've taken a couple days to stew over it. I was angry, and I didn't want to say the wrong thing. I realize though, it's important to stand up and say something regardless.

And I am STILL angry
Thread: Silence and neutrality only uphold the oppressor. Integrity matters. This is something Jespersen clearly believed in himself: He has the kind of Integrity that I've seen in few people. Which makes his firing all the more bizarre, and inspires me to stand up for what's right.

I couldn't sit back and do nothing.
One day, our kids, and their kids, will ask what it was like in 2020, and what we did. I don't want my answer to be 'nothing'. So I did something:
@AlbertaMasks was created to affordably get as many of the best masks out in public as possible. They use nanofibre to filter 99% of particles the size of 0.075 microns! They're light and breathable, washable/reusable, and protect the mask wearer without taking away supply from the healthcare workers who need N95s the most. We are undercutting the competition at $14.99/mask.

This is pretty huge: Human rights board orders insurer to pay medical cannabis costs in precedent-setting case. financialpost.com/wcm/b1ec50d8-1… via @nationalpost Independent human rights board of inquiry chair @bnperryman said that medical marijuana should be an eligible expense since it requires a doctor’s authorization and thus didn’t fall within the plan’s exclusions.

Still trying to remember more questions from the Weed the People Q&A: Was asked if we only see patients with cancer. I had wondered if there was too much focus on that in the movie, and it gives that impression. In fact, that's not the case at all. Cannabis works for so much: A lot of people get medical cannabis for anxiety, pain, epilepsy, arthritis, insomnia, etc. There is also better evidence for treating these things compared to cancer, and the results can be pretty life changing.
I took this opportunity to point out why it can treat so much:

After Xmas I drove home to Alberta, and then on to B.C. (You should see the hilarious video of Jr learning to ski)
I stopped in Invermere, BC, at @Invermerecanna1 which was not far off the highway. Talked to the friendly woman working there, who was helpful. (1/4) Image I wanted to pick up some @TantalusLabs flower, since I’ve seen lower prices for it in BC and I like what they are doing. Unfortunately they only had prerolls. I ended up going with a little @SanRafael71 Pink Kush (on sale) and @COVECrafted “Rise”. (2/4) Image

Aside from the Hash Plant from @emeraldhealthca, I also picked up some Wappa by @redecanca. This is one I had previously done the nose test on, and loved it, so I was looking forward to actually testing it out. (1/5) Image At 24%, it is high THC. It was also packaged just under a month prior to purchase (Nov 26), which I was quite happy to see.
Minimal packaging, although the tiny plastic case is in a box twice it’s size, which goes straight into the recycling. (2/5)

*Thread* So let me tell you about travelling and seeing out of town Cannabis shops over Xmas break:
Ms. McCannabis and I took Jr to Saskatoon to start. While there, I stopped in at Living Skies Cannabis, which claims to be the only locally owned and operated store in Saskatoon. Image The owner is 20-something entrepreneur, Cierra Sieben-Chuback. Other stores in S’toon include @TweedInc, a couple @Prairie_Records (owned by @Westleaf_Inc), @mykiaro, and The Pot Shack. (2/9)

What B.C. is doing by adding a 20% tax on harm reduction devices/products make my blood boil. Did they not consult *any* healthcare professionals? I can’t believe the level of incompetence sometimes.

www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/tax… They are even adding this huge tax to dry herbal vaporizers. They heat cannabis, whether CBD or THC, as to avoid so many carcinogens that are created by combustion. I can’t believe they want to deter people from choosing healthier alternatives. It’s so backwards.

On the @ryanjespersen show today I heard @abiroach speak, but then a researcher (didn’t catch her name) says vaping cannabis in ALL forms is a health issue. I can’t disagree more. There is no evidence to support this claim. Vaping dry flower =/= vaping cartridges. (Thread) I called in (I’ll post a link when available), but feel the need to reiterate the facts of vaping:
I’m in favour of it as a harm reduction method over smoking. It is safER than smoking, but that doesn’t necessarily mean 100% safe either. Education is key to making decisions.

FINALLY Finished my video review of ‘Serratus’ by @TantalusLabs. I tried to be different from the avg review and be entertaining and informative on the LP, packaging, terpene profile, freshness, medical studies, vaping vs smoking, and effect/experience.
For those who want to know more about what @DSutton1986 and @TantalusLabs are up to, I’ll be tweeting my thoughts here as well, which will share info from the video as well as expand on it.

So on my travels, I went to a Cannabis Store (I don't use the term dispensary, which implies medical) in Regina.
Nice, modern, brightly lit store. Fairly minimalist. Cool logo and everything. One of very few open, since I think only 6 licenses were given for the entire city 1/9 Staff checked ID and were friendly with a couple of them offering help, but to be honest, they didn’t seem super knowledgeable. Chalk that up to early days of post-prohibition. (2/9)

I want to be somewhat scientific about my review. I don’t think you can base a review on a single experience, because of so many variables (example: Does it make me tired, or am I just getting tired?). I’ll try it out a few times before a complete review. But first thoughts are: I was in #YXE for the Mother’s Day weekend, and friends took me to @Prairie_Records. What a cool and unique shop! It looks like a record store, with real records that explain each cultivar (aka strain). Staff were helpful and seemed to know their stuff. Props to you guys!

So I'm down at @hempfest_canada in Edmonton and I'm going to be doing some #livetweeting Image @hempfest_canada After showing my ticket, the first thing I see before even entering the expo, are snack machines. Somehow nobody is here, but I still think its smart. Image
