Sharing on behalf of this boy’s mother:
“November 15,2024 my son who attends a school in Charles county has experienced something no child should have never in life experience. My child who is a 2nd grader was hung in the boys bathroom by a 4th grader. (in Charles County, MD) I received the most traumatizing phone call from the school stating that my child was being rushed to children's hospital in NW. The principal went into the bathroom & found my baby foaming out the mouth & unconscious. I walked into the trauma room with 8-10 doctors surrounding my son. This is the most heartbreaking & traumatizing situation my family has ever been in. Although I'm not the one to to bring my personal life onto social media however social media has a big platform and this is a story that I want told. To bring awareness to other parents & students by any means. Everything about this is unacceptable nothing about this is ok BULLYING is never ok.
I'm feeling anger & seeing red but my son is here by the grace of GOD and I will forever be thankful! I have so many questions left unanswered. I thank everyone for all the calls check ups & prayers. All I ask is that you please REPOST SHARE & TAG.”
I have confirmed @CCSOMD is aware of this incident & will be investigating.
Statement from Charles County Schools: “Two students were horseplaying in a school bathroom on Friday, November 15, when one of the student's jackets got caught on a stall door hook. Officials say the other student was unable to assist in the student's removal from the hook and left the bathroom to seek help from an administrator.”
We will reach out on Monday to see how a student’s jacket being caught on a stall door hook would lead to a student being taken to a trauma center, and why a 2nd grader & 4th grader were in a stall together.

It happened AGAIN! The same 12 year-old (reportedly) was just briefly put in handcuffs in Eastern Middle School’s parking lot in Silver Spring, MD & GIVEN A RIDE HOME after fleeing from police in a car reported stolen. (used in the past to ram the car dealership’s gates) The same 12 year-old was also “caught” this weekend at the Porsche Bethesda dealership on Rockville Pike for a separate burglary & was released to his parents, per @mcpnews. (This all comes after the recent law called the “Maryland Juvenile Justice Reform Act, which was passed largely w/ the support of @jillpcarter) #MoCo @MontCoExec @GLFOP see tweet below for original story…
The same 12 year-old has been detained 4 times in the past for burglarizing car dealerships & stealing car keys in some instances 👇 He cannot be held by MCP for a non-violent offense until he turns 13.
It's frustrating that after years (in some cases) of trying, I have yet to receive a written statement from certain police departments in this area upon request. (although I am the first & sometimes only to request it over the early morning hours before news assignment desks open) Yet at the same time, I've had nasty messages from certain police PIOs asking me to confirm info with them first before tweeting. It can't go both ways. 1/3
With rumors of encryption looming, this has been a recent concern of mine & my peers. Responding based solely off how long you've worked with someone or whether they work for corporate media or not is a habit that needs to be discarded in this day and age of social media. My hats go off to the Public Information Offices who understand this & are willing to work with us 'independent reporters.' (or whatever phrase you'd like to use) 2/3
