Acting on fake news about resignation of police personnel, one person has been arrested by @DelhiPolice from Rajasthan. A mischievous social media campaign has been going on for the last 2 days propagating false rumours regarding disaffection in police ranks. @CPDelhi

Old, unrelated videos were being posted with fake news of resignation of police personnel. Acting on such fake news, CyPAD Unit of @DelhiPolice registered a criminal case and has arrested one person Om Prakash Dhetarwal of Churu District of Rajasthan.

In a major action, the CyPAD Unit of @DelhiPolice has arrested two Chinese nationals alongwith 10 others for running an online malicious App that hacked into Indian Users' devices and also pushed them to follow Social Media (FB, Insta & YT) accounts of unknown origin and control.
The malicious App was being pushed through Whatsapp messages under the garb of digital marketing scheme where users can earn money by liking videos on Facebook, YouTube, etc. Though such methods, the App was taking control over the device used as well as content seen by the user.

Threat - Attackers obtain WhatsApp verification PIN from target using a fake account with official WhatsApp logo as display picture to trick users into believing that it is the official account of WhatsApp tech. team
Modus Operandi
The attacker creates a fake account with the official WhatsApp logo as display picture posing to be WhatsApp technical team's account.
The attacker then sends a message to the target asking him/her to share the six-digit verification PIN to verify their identity.

Suggestions on Zoom usage
Avoid sharing your meeting link on Social Media or other Public Forums, as that makes your event extremely public and allows anyone with the link to join the meeting.

Avoid using your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) to host public events. Rather use the randomly generated meeting IDs for such events.
Enable the “Waiting Room” feature which stops any unwanted guests from joining the meeting until you Admit them into your meeting.
