Will post videos later, but quick takeaways from OL/DL 1-on-1:

• Leonard Williams remains unblockable

• Jon Feliciano had 2 good reps vs. Dexter Lawrence

• Andrew Thomas continues to look very solid

• Evan Neal has had some rough moments. Quincy Roche put him in a blender Going to thread nine of these again:

1. Andrew Thomas has been so good in these. Another W against Kayvon Thibodeaux:

1. Some notes from today: I only count 11 v. 11 reps, but during the first period all 11 players were on the field with only half the field live. During that period, Jones was picked by Adoree' Jackson after holding the ball through a would-be sack by Thibdoeaux (beat Thomas). 2. Thibodeaux also beat Thomas around the edge during an 11-on-11 period.

• Jihad Ward had a pressure against Evan Neal in the half-field drill and another on the first play of 11 v 11. Neal has looked like a rookie tackle at times during camp.

Got our first OL vs DL 1-on-1’s of camp today. Going to thread nine here.

1. Andrew Thomas has looked very solid this summer. Has more than held his own against Kayvon Thibodeaux: 2. Leonard Williams is having a strong camp. Looks explosive. He’s the best player on this defense until Xavier McKinney takes that title from him:

Clips from the first half re-watch ... No Xs and Os analysis on this one. Just have to love the way Gallman runs: Giants have been using pullers more in the run game. Results have been encouraging:

Here's a Jones thread from the first half. Opposite feeling from the Rams game: This week, I better about Jones after re-watching than I did immediately after the game. This is a big-time throw to get a first on third-and-9 Getting 7 yards out of this is quality considering the collapsing pocket (another tackle beat inside by Lawrence again) and the lack of open receivers

Few clips from the first half that show just counting sacks can be misleading (in both ways). First, the second play of the game. Jones is running an RPO, seemingly everyone else just doing the "R" part because no one ran a route. Let's call it an RPNo. Goes as a sack: On the other side of the coin, this should have been a sack but Jones makes a play (Andrew Thomas continues to get beat inside and struggle with power). Also, look at the receivers when Jones hits the top of his drop. Where is he supposed to go with the ball? "4 curls" gotta go:

Some clips from the second half of Giants-49ers (it obviously was pretty ugly). This was the Jones misfire I've referenced a few times. Hey, everyone is allowed to miss, but this was very uncharacteristic on an all-around rough day: Feels like a cliche when coaches/players say they were "one block away" but this play was in good shape other than Hernandez getting tossed aside by Kinlaw (49ers have another beast on the DL)

Got a late start on the re-watch. A few clips from the first half: It's the Year 2048, I'm covering my 28th different OL coach and the Giants still can't pick up a basic DL stunt (good job by Gates with some late help): I have no idea what Hernandez is doing here. Got anything for me @geoffschwartz?

Just finished watching the game. Here's a thread on notable plays from the second half... Plays like this keep me believing in Jones. He's a gamer. He also showed great accuracy when he had a pocket last night. Of course, he needs to cut back on the bad turnovers. Saquon actually had a few solid blitz pick-ups last night. But twice he and Andrew Thomas allowed a free rusher when they went to block the same man on CB blitzes.

Re-watching last night's game. A few notable plays from the first half: It's hard to function with blocking like this from Engram: Dupree was such a monster. So fast and explosive off the ball that he's at Saquon before Zeitler even has a shot to make the trap block:

Had some time so watched the first half of Steelers-Dolphins from last season for some potential clues on Patrick Graham's plan:

• Miami mostly played a base 3-4 on early downs. Pittsburgh went with heavy personnel (6 OL on 25 snaps). James Conner ran wild (23-145-1)... • Would be surprised if either repeats tonight. Run D should be Giants' strength and Pitt can open up offense with Ben back (Side note, Mason Rudolph: Woof!).

• True to form, Graham ran a lot of Cover 1. Expect Julian Love to be the deep safety.

Haven't covered Logan Ryan in a few years, but he's still first-team all-media. Introductory Zoom call featured plenty of great lines.

Ryan said he begged for an iPad after signing and has been watching film 20 hours per day.

He said his role is "G-5 classified." Ryan arrived in New England in Judge's second season as a special teams assistant. Ryan said Judge's language hasn't cleaned up any over time. But Ryan said Judge is more of a "players' guy" than he comes off. Said Judge was a big reason he chose the Giants over other offers.

Giants are warming up for their final scrimmage of training camp at MetLife Stadium. I don’t see WR Golden Tate, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, or WR David Sills. Giants are holding a practice before starting a situational scrimmage. LBs Blake Martinez and Tae Crowder doing some work on the side with trainers during individual drills.

Dave Gettleman said the offseason arrests of DeAndre Baker and Aldrick Rosas were “disappointing.” He said there was nothing in their backgrounds to indicate what happened. Will the Giants keep Baker on the roster until his legal situation is resolved? Gettleman said they’re “still in conversations on that.” Baker is on the commissioner’s exempt list, so he doesn’t currently count toward the roster limit.

WR Golden Tate left practice early. Appeared to be a right hamstring injury. He grabbed it immediately and was down after extending to try to make a catch. Didn’t *appear* serious. He was able to walk but didn’t finish practice. Looked like S Jabrill Peppers was dealing with a leg cramp (nearly a daily occurrence) but he returned. DL RJ McIntosh left practice with his left ankle wrapped. S Montre Hartage appeared to tweak his hammy covering Saquon on a nice deep ball from Daniel Jones.

Couple practice notes:

• Sterling Shepard brings a lot of juice to practice and lets the defense know when he makes a play. He caught a deep ball from Daniel Jones today over Julian Love after Corey Ballentine slipped earlier in the route... ...Shepard launched the ball after the catch. An official threw a flag and Jude sternly instructed Shepard to retrieve the ball. Judge then called Shepard over for a chat. Judge had his hand on Shepard's shoulder during the calm talk and Shepard departed w/ a tap on the backside

Ton of practice notes:

• First play as I walked back outside: BJ Hill intercepting a Daniel Jones pass and taking it to the house. Jones and Nick Gates also had to run a lap after fumbling a snap. With Spencer Pulley out, UDFA Tyler Haycraft took Gates' spot during the lap. • There was a lot of chirping during 11-on-11. Evan Engram was as fired up as I've ever seen him. He flung his helmet about 20 yards after one play and appeared to be directing his ire at Lorenzo Carter, who was then sent on a lap...

Scary sight during practice: CB Corey Ballentine was motionless for a few minutes after a head-on collision with WR Austin Mack. Cart came out but Ballentine wound up being OK and actually finished practice. Trainers appeared to be checking his right shoulder. Injury happened during the most physical drill I’ve seen in five NFL camps. Defensive players lined up on goalline, offensive players were a few yards away. Offensive player picked up ball and they met at the goal line.

Bret Bielema, who was linked to head coaching vacancies at Michigan State and Colorado shortly after getting hired by the Giants, said Judge was "cool" with him pursuing college opportunities coming in. Said interest happened quicker than expected. Who knows what future holds? OL coach Marc Colombo said his focus with Andrew Thomas has been the use of his hands. They've worked on that "quite a bit." Otherwise, Colombo said Thomas doesn't have many deficiencies.

Spoke to Daniel Jones' two biggest QB influences, Duke coach David Cutcliffe and trainer David Morris, for a deep dive on what he's doing to fix his ball security issues and why they believe he'll be successful: bit.ly/3eSiEoy Reviewed all 18 of Jones' fumbles for this. A few notes:
• 11 came in the pocket while readying to pass. Of those, 5 were blindside hits when Solder got beat. Not sure how much of those go on Jones. There were 5 others where he showed a lack of feel for rushers he should've seen

The Giants started a voluntary three-day virtual minicamp today (this is a bonus minicamp due to having a first-year head coach). Joe Judge just held a media session on Zoom. A few notes: • Judge doesn't sound optimistic about having any in-person work with players this spring. Mentioned the issues with needing players to fly in from all over the country (aside from obvious issues in NJ).
• He said they're exploring alternate training camp locations...
