As tiresome as the "ok boomer" discourse has become, it still bears repeating that the main reason the meme's caught on is because it sums up the whole feeling of being young, being passionate for change, and being dismissed by older people who'd forgotten what that felt like
Notice how it doesn't get used against all people who'd fit into the Baby Boomer generation
It's dismissive shorthand against cynics, whiners, the ones who tell you that change is neither necessary nor even possible

LONG HISTORY THREAD
So I'm gonna own right off the bat that this isn't my original idea but something that I've seen brought up a lot of times in things like history TIL threads. With that out of the way, I do feel like brainstorming this a bit more.

First off, Spanish colonialism connected Western Europe to Africa (Northern African Moors and primarily Western African slaves) to the Americas (Gulf of Mexico, SW US down to Chile etc) to Asia (Marianas, Philippines and China). Other countries participated too but stay with me.

Hey author people maybe dunking on your cover artists isn't the best way to use a social media platform but what do I know right #TerryGoodkind#Fantasy
Like I can't even afford to commission cover art because 1.) I'm a grad student and 2.) I know good art costs good money. It's one of my goals to be able to do that though. But being that dismissive of something paid for by the publisher is just unbelievably petty.
