Donald Trump is ramping up his lies about his record on Social Security and Medicare.

Trump has repeatedly called to cut Social Security and Medicare, and we have the receipts. THREAD: ⬇️ Trump is pointing fingers at other MAGA Republicans, but he still owns his proposals to gut Social Security and Medicare in EVERY SINGLE ONE of his budgets.

🧵THREAD: These are just some of the Republicans who publicly opposed Democrats’ historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — but are now asking for infrastructure money from @POTUS’s bill: Kentucky GOP Senator @RandPaul boldly called @POTUS’s historic legislation “wasteful” — but literally sent *10 different letters* asking for infrastructure money from the bill to help rebuild communities in Kentucky.

🧵Republicans lying through their teeth about their abortion extremism, PART 2:

Joe Lombardo, the GOP nominee for governor in Nevada, changed up the entire abortion page on his campaign website to lie about his anti-choice views. (See a pattern here?) Before winning his GOP primary, North Carolina congressional candidate Christian Castelli bragged on his campaign website that he wanted to defund Planned Parenthood.

After the primary, Castelli built a brand-new website with an “issues” page that doesn’t even mention abortion.

🧵THREAD: Republicans are straight up lying about their positions on abortion because they know they can’t run on their extreme, anti-choice records. Exhibit A: Up until last week, Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters’s campaign website said he supported criminalizing abortion and a federal personhood law.

Masters completely scrubbed his website of these wildly unpopular proposals on Thursday.

Republicans vote no and take the dough.

Here’s a thread of Republicans who tout programs included in the American Rescue Plan that they all voted *against* 🧵⤵️

Republicans would rather spread baseless lies and do everything in their power to delay the American Rescue Plan than deliver relief to their constituents. Full stop. thehill.com/homenews/senat… Republicans are LYING when they say the American Rescue Plan would cut Medicare.

The American Rescue Plan does NOT cut Medicare, but it does make health care more affordable for the millions of Americans who have lost their coverage during the pandemic. axios.com/aca-coronaviru…

While Trump was on the campaign trail promising to run the country like he does his business, his businesses were hemorrhaging money.

And now, like his businesses, he’s run our country into the ground.

nytimes.com/interactive/20… While you paid taxes, Trump was flying around on private jets, spending $70,000 to style his hair and telling the IRS he was too poor to pay his fair share. He didn’t pay any federal income taxes for 10 years between 2000-2015, and only $750 the year he was elected president.

Trump says we’re “rounding the turn” on COVID-19.

This weekend we rounded the turn on 200,000+ deaths — and Democrats won't let him forget it.

THREAD: Bill Barr, instead of working on behalf of the American people, has repeatedly politicized the Justice Department to protect Trump and his political interests.

Here are just some of the outrageous remarks he said yesterday: Barr said that stay-at-home orders are the greatest intrusion on civil liberties other than slavery in American history.

(He thinks they’re worse than Jim Crow and Japanese-American internment to name a few.)

Trump admitted yesterday that he’s sabotaging the USPS because of mail voting, and it’s not just talk. bit.ly/3kPs3ky Election mail has long been a top priority for the USPS, even when it's sent at the bulk rate. But thanks to the Trump stooge in charge, postal officials are telling states ballots may not be delivered on time unless they pay nearly THREE TIMES more. wapo.st/3apAga9 Image

First a top Trump fundraiser was installed as postmaster general. Then he deliberately slowed down the mail, undermining mail voting & keeping people from getting critical medication, paychecks & other necessities.

Now he’s displaced top officials to center power around himself. “I received my life-saving medication 20 days late.”
“I ordered five weeks early, expecting delays. My meds were still late.”
“What used to take days now takes weeks.”

Trump’s USPS slowdown is hanging veterans out to dry.

Today, @JoeBiden is rolling out his plan to confront systemic racism and advance racial equity.

While Trump boasts false claims about helping communities of color, he has only made racial disparities worse.

The facts ⤵️ Trump’s failed response to the coronavirus has particularly hurt Black and Latino Americans communities.

When Trump thought he was in danger, he ran to the bunker — but when our troops had Russian bounties on their heads, he did nothing. When Trump feared the coronavirus, he forced his staff to be tested — just as he “slowed the testing down” for everyday Americans.

Today, Trump celebrated #EarthDay by planting a tree and praising our environmental “stewardship.”

He didn’t mention how he’s used coronavirus to justify relaxing EPA enforcement of pollution rules. There’s a virus that attacks your lungs spreading throughout the U.S.

Trump’s speech last night was supposed to reassure and calm Americans — it did not. Instead, it only made things worse.

His speech was riddled with errors and falsehoods. Here are just three examples of @realDonaldTrump contradicting HIS OWN policies:
cnn.com/2020/03/12/pol… 1. Trump said, “We will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States.”

He created confusion and fear by NOT mentioning that this only applies to foreign nationals.

Here is Trump’s own Homeland Security appointee doing damage control:
