The eye (globe) is attached to the orbit by 4 rectus & 2 oblique muscles that collectively allow rotary movement and vision in many directions. These muscles are innervated by 3 cranial nerves (Thread)
The superior oblique (SO) muscle is innervated by the trochlear nerve (CNIV). The SO depresses, turns the eye laterally and causes medial rotation.
