The Florida Bar wants to immunize Attorney General Ashley Moody and all lawyers who are state officers from bar discipline floridabulldog.org/2021/10/the-fl…
“When Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody joined her Texas counterpart and other Republicans in trying to overturn 2020 presidential election results from four swing states, some Floridians wanted her disbarred.
In the end, the petition drive went nowhere. And now the Florida Bar is rewriting a disciplinary rule to forestall any similar efforts in the future. Bar leaders may be reacting to the situation in Texas, where AG Paxton is under investigation for leading the charge that Moody

Frivolous lawsuit? To this Florida court, that might depend on your politics | Editorial orlandosentinel.com/opinion/editor…
"A former Florida appellate judge, Robert Benton, agreed in a recent affidavit submitted to the Florida Bar supporting Uhlfelder. “I disagree with the view that the initial lawsuit and appeal were frivolous,” Benton wrote. “I am making this affidavit because I think the
independence of the bar is one of the pillars of our democracy. Just as the independence of the judiciary is key to preserving our liberties …” A former state Supreme Court Justice, Fred Lewis, said in a separate affidavit that he did not believe Uhlfelder’s case was frivolous,

"A former Florida Supreme Court justice has lined up in support of a Santa Rosa Beach attorney who’s the focus of investigations after he dressed up as the Grim Reaper and sued Gov. Ron DeSantis for refusing to shut down state beaches last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic."
“It is my opinion and legal view that the lawsuit and appeal were not frivolous,” Lewis, who served on the Supreme Court for 21 years until his retirement in 2019, wrote in documents provided by Uhlfelder. “I submit this affidavit because it is my view that legal action,

On June 3, 2021, Florida stopped posting COVID-19 daily reports because Governor DeSantis's press secretary said "our state is returning to normal." On August 10, 2021, amid spike in DELTA cases, Florida began reporting by the date of death rather than when death reported
as it had been doing since beginning of pandemic creating an "artificial decline" which make it "look like we are doing better than we are." See chart below from article.

Study finds DeSantis and Abbott are responsible for at least 4,700 unnecessary deaths in FL and TX dailykos.com/story/2021/8/1…
"First, the study looked only at vaccination rates...These numbers don’t include the number of hospitalizations or deaths generated because both governors have failed to institute mask mandates and blocked the use of mandates by schools and local governments.
The numbers also don’t include the damage done by forcing businesses to reopen and schools to conduct in-person classes even though conditions had pointedly not reached the guidelines each state had put in place. And these numbers only run through July, meaning they don’t catch

Ron DeSantis held a secret roundtable yesterday with "advisors" to discuss masks and schools.

One of his advisors said: "Masking children is child abuse."
The "advisor" is a California psychiatrist named Mark McDonald @MMcDonaldMD who refers to COVID-19 as "Wuflu" on his twitter page. This is one of the people advising Ron DeSantis on Florida's health
The full roundtable which was not made public can be viewed here on "Rumble" presumably because it would have been taken down by YouTube due to misinformation

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Is Crafting An Exemption For Cruise Lines To His ‘Vaccine Passport’ Ban via @forbes forbes.com/sites/suzanner…
"A much bigger eye-opener was the May 20 letter sent from Florida’s health department telling Royal Caribbean and Celebrity they could go directly to the CDC for permission to sail. 'The Department has limited statutory authority with respect to cruise lines, and the Department’s
permission is not required for your company to resume operations,' wrote Dr. Scott A. Rivkees, the Florida Surgeon General. 'To be clear, nothing in state law stands in the way of cruise ship operations.' Hold on, what? Nothing in state law stands in the way?"

How Matt Gaetz helped make Ron DeSantis politi.co/3yzCWO4
In interviews, more than half a dozen former DeSantis campaign advisers and early administration staffers say Gaetz had huge influence over DeSantis, who in the run-up to his gubernatorial campaign was an outsider in state-level Florida politics. That was a world where Gaetz had
long been an operator. Now, as DeSantis runs for reelection and is likely laying the groundwork for a 2024 presidential run, he has all-but turned his back on Gaetz.”
