THREAD: Over the weekend, Evanston was the subject of a fourth-tier right-wing panic.

I think it started with this tweet from a well-known grifter and eventually wound up on Fox News. The insinuation, of course, is that the City of Evanston has canceled July 4th while deciding to celebrate Juneteenth and Pride.

That would be a very provocative thing to do!

The only problem is it's totally made up.

THREAD: A weird story about @UChicago, @HarrisPolicy, and right-wing dark money organizations. A friend of mine is taking a course called “Winning Issue Campaigns” at the Harris School. The class has a “Campaign in a Day” project where students would quickly design a campaign and get evaluated. They asked me to be a judge and I said sure.
