Hello! This week is my last week working as Director of Policy at the Chicago Department of Housing. It's been four and a half years, and I'm incredibly proud of my work here. I'm so grateful to my colleagues for everything that their work has made possible.

A few highlights: 1. The 2021 ARO, which, combined with the state Affordable Housing Special Assessment Program supported by the City, has made 20% affordability a standard part of new multifamily and introduced income averaging to serve more of those most in need. Chicago.gov/ARO

Bending the curve of development in small ways: It's still early, but we're seeing the Connected Communities accessibility incentive for small multifamily buildings play out:

And they're providing *two* accessible units in each one, for a total of four--where previously there would have been zero.
