Special guest on today's podcast (2:30PM ET).

I'll be using Dell's new UltraSharp camera. You be the judge of how good it looks. Link for those who want to learn more about it.

Basically, this *may* be better than Logitech's BRIO 4K, which is now 4 years old. Shows:

1. How good Logitech is at webcams
2. How there was very little competition here pre-pandemic.

AMD in laptops is such a weird thing. I'm not sure how they get away with a 40+% drop in performance depending on if on AC or battery, but they do.

And yeah, you see this with CPU/GPU too. Because AMD is "so much more efficient than Intel" or something copypasta. ImageImage If Intel did this it'd be a sensationalist controversy. But because AMD does it and they're the underdog, huge pass from tech media.

Overall big quarter for Microsoft. Not really a surprise considering the current climate and shift to WFH and study-from-home.

Plus, that whole gaming thing is a nice distraction.

Cloud and commercial still dominating:

1/ There's an important distinction between cost and value.

One is a fact ("$800") and the other is subjective, an opinion ("I feel what I paid was worth it").

People often conflate the two making a judgement for others on the latter without consideration. 2/ Some of this has popped up with the Surface Pro X.

Many have complained about its price, when what they mean is the perceived value. That's fair.

I can't tell you something is worth it - that's a very personal decision.
