My uncles and grandpa never got their GI bill. That’s all I’ve been able to think about the last few days with all this talk about Memorial Day, WW2, and Normandy. Black veterans went across that water to free those white people and came back to get lynched by the Klan.
I actually come from a military family. I’m the oldest male of my grandparents grandchildren to not join “the service” as we call it. The reason I didn’t is because my mother who is the daughter, wife, aunt of veterans forbad it. Because her dad never got his GI bill.

A lot is reported about how Hitler wouldn’t shake Jesse Owens hand after the Olympics but Owens also wasn’t invited to the White House to shake hands with the President either. I think that an excellent microcosm of how history is taught in America.

Brands generally view media through a marketing lens in three different buckets. Paid, earned, and owned. Paid is big media buys like TV, earned press like articles, and owned is channels they operate like social media pages.

Hey Twitter Democrats, Its okay for voters from a key demographic (that we need to reignite if we want to win in 28) to be upset about the prospect of a wedge issue for them not being fulfilled. That does not make them politically inept nor ignorant.
Also it’s alright for them to be upset that a campaign promise “appears” to have been delayed. Biden did say 10k. It does look as if it’s a walk back or a failure. They’re allowed to be upset at that and state they will not support him moving forward.

the annual mean wage was $56,310 in 2020. If you are in Texas after taxes that means you net about 39,980.10 depending on how you set up your tax forms. That comes out about 3,075.39 per month to live off.
