Imām ibn Khallikān writes:

Fakhr al-Dīn (al-Rāzī) mentioned in his book 'Tahsīl al-Haqq' that he learned the knowledge of the Usūl al-Dīn from his father Diyāʾ al-Dīn ʿUmar and he from Abū al-Qāsim Sulaymān ibn Nāsir al-Ansārī and he from Imām al-Haramayn Abu al-Maʾālī (al-Juwaynī), and he from Ustād Abū Isḥāq al-Isfarāyīnī and he from Shayh Abū al-Ḥusayn al-Bāhilī

Ḥāfiẓ al-Dhahabī writes: Ḥāfiẓ Abū Bakr al-Khaṭīb [al-Baghdādī] said:

As for what pertains to the divine Attributes, whatever is narrated in the books of sound reports concerning them, the position of the Salaf consists in their affirmation and letting them pass according to their external wordings while negating from them modality (kayfiyya) and likeness to things created (tashbīh). Certain people have contradicted the Attributes and nullified what Allāh had affirmed;

What did Imām al-Qurṭubī say regarding istawāʾ? 🧵

He said: Regarding Allāh's statement may He be exalted: Thumma istawa ʿalā al-ʿarsh [He then established Himself over the Throne]

This is the theological issue of al-istiwāʾ. The scholars have spoken at length regarding it. ImageImageImageImage We have shown the various positions of the scholars in the book The Radiant Explanation of Gods Most Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes, where we made mention of fourteen opinions.

Narrated ibn ʿUmar:

The Prophet (ﷺ) looked at the people of the well (the well in which the bodies of the pagans killed in the Battle of Badr were thrown) and said, "Have you found true what your Lord promised you?" Somebody said to him, "You are addressing dead people." He replied, "You do not hear better than they but they cannot reply."

Imām al-Nawawī said:

If [a layperson] is not ascribed [to a madhhab], it is premised on two views,
which Ibn Barhān related from our Ashāb, in that: Is it necessary for the
layperson to adopt a particular madhhab?...The second it is necessary for him. Abū al-Hasan al-Ilkiyā positively asserted it, and this applies to all who have not
reached the level of ijtihād from the jurists and the adherents of all sciences. [This
is so] in order that he does not collect the dispensations of the madhhabs;

@IbrahimIbnMahm2 Firstly you deceive brothers into believing a statement is by ibn al-Qayyim (when it's actually by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd) and then you post the replies as if to prove the Ashʿaris accuse the Companions of Tajsīm. Why didn't you post the other replies you got? 1/3 This is probably one of many responses where you were told the statement isn't Tajsīm but you didn't want to hear that, did you? 2/3

Asking Nabi ﷺ for forgiveness AFTER his death:

Allāh is exhorting the sinners and evil doers that when they commit sins and errors they should come to the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) and ask forgiveness from Allāh there. They should also request the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) to ask forgiveness for them. When they do so, Allāh will turn to them and show mercy to them and He will forgive them.

Debunking the myth that God and Lord mean different things in the Qur'ān

(Short🧵) The confusion in heavens and on earth won’t happen by the mere fact of multiplicity of gods unless we take the words "the God (al-ilaah)" in this verse to mean the disposer of affairs and the manager of the matters of the Universe.

When [Muhammad] Ibn 'Abdi l-Wahhâb and those who helped him, undertook their heinous da'wah, because of which they declared the Muslims disbelievers , they seized the tribes of the East, tribes after tribes then their conquered territory expanded and they seized Yemen and the two haram (Mecca and Medina), as well as the tribes of Hijâz, and their conquered territory came close to the Sham, then to Mouzayrib (southern Syria).

This thread is probably my most important one due to a number of reasons. We see people use Qur'an verses to try and prove istagaatha as shirk and they try and equate the calling of the pagans upon their idols to Muslims calling upon Nabi ﷺ. This thread proves why this is wrong. Firstly we have to establish that as Muslims we are obliged to believe everything is created by Allah. Every action, every being and every affect are created by Allah. Nothing can happen without the permission of Allah. All harm and benefit comes from Allah. Why is this relevant?
