1. Was talking last week to a couple of young Ukrainian leftists who seemed, totally understandably, depressed and distressed about the course of the Russia-Ukraine war. 2. I always found dialectics useful in registering complexity and multi-directional dynamics of rapid social and political change, which is what wars and revolutions are, of course. Even the simplified formula of Engels.
