🚨New @TheIFS research takes a 25-year view of housing supply in England:

You may be surprised to know that total housing units grew slightly faster than the number of adults in England from 1996 to 2021 (21% vs 20%).
But there were VERY different patterns across regions. In London, 16+ population growth outpaced housing growth: 29% vs 23%. 2/
