In "White Fragility," Robin DiAngelo writes that white liberals often grasp their privilege the least because they consider themselves evolved already.

I've thought about that recently while reading one cringe-worthy quote after another advocating for @ewarren to be VP.

1/16 It began yesterday when I read @danpfeiffer and @AlyssaMastro44 minimize Kamala Harris as someone who would help win the election, but that Elizabeth Warren would be "the best person" to be President.

It continued today when I read the news below: 2/ chron.com/news/article/W…

I'm getting concerned that voters will not show up to polls on Tuesday.

Here in FL we've had vote-by-mail & early voting for 2 weeks. You are not close to anyone during voting, there's sanitizer everywhere & it's very safe & not crowded. And yet I've had friends scared to go 1/ I voted early and brought my wife yesterday. This isn't a crowded scenario, there were no lines, you never get close to anyone, poll workers where gloves, sanitizer was everywhere, each individual booth has been wiped down constantly.

It was simply as safe as could be and I'm 2/

RANT: this is harsh & I don't mean to disrespect friends who like her, but I am SO frustrated with poor political work by @ewarren campaign that I'm not going to be upset if/when it ultimately has to suspend. Perhaps she limits Bernie (maybe), but here's why I'm so frustrated: 1/ We all KNEW Bernie was going to make the race about him, his "revolution," his signature economic/regulatory issues, and less about a contrast with Donald Trump. We knew that because he refused to join the Democratic Party after 2016, so he was never going to be a team player. 2/

This will get me flamed, but I need to get this off my chest: I feel like I'm going absolutely crazy seeing so many of my fellow liberals - particularly those who consider themselves "woke" - rally around a candidate who adopted minority status to the detriment of minorities. 1/ It's known Elizabeth Warren listed herself on multiple official forms as Native American, that she blamed this on family lore, she later said she had "high cheek bones like the Indians do," and even said "I have lots of pictures" about her NA ancestry (but won't share them). 2/

I am accused of being too focused negatively on @ewarren but it’s a larger point. A POTUS needs to be able to discuss a wide range of issues from international to civil rights to judicial appointments and more. This is from her town hall now and is exactly what frustrates me: 1/ I don’t question her passion and commitment to financial issues including taxes and corporate regulatory issues. But building a broad case to be President means being able to deal with a broad range of issues. It is December & I have waited to see her demonstrate that ability 2/

So, since it was asked, here's what IMO so many who have been indignantly rallying around her are missing when it comes to topic of @ewarren and her legal consulting fees.

Spoiler: it's not the fees.

Instead, please meet the monster you created, Doctor Frankenstein... 1/ First, let me say: I could not care less that she made money. Warren supplemented her academic salary, which is something absolutely every academic who can, does. My father was an historian, wrote books (for money!) & lectured (also for money!) & it helped pay for things for 2/

Overall, this pro-Biden piece is a little too glib about his strengths & ignores his weaknesses. Where it's right is that national head-to-heads are not too be believed & all candidates are not equal in an electoral college race.

My focus is on Warren. 1/
thedailybeast.com/gaffes-and-all… This section: "If it’s Elizabeth Warren, “Pocahontas” will be invoked as mockery—and as a substantive critique on Warren’s honesty and authenticity. Make no mistake, this will move the numbers."

This is important and actually gets at two issues re: Warren and the primary. 2/

I've had benefit of being away & had some distance from what's happened over last two weeks. In particular, the reaction from Biden-world to the debates (as seen below). To sum up: politics is a tough biz and Biden camp's hand-wringing needs to end 1/ politico.com/story/2019/06/… Of course the big news was Kamala Harris' direct hit on Biden. On average it was seen as a big boost for her campaign, but there are those who didn't like it and saw it as unfair to Biden. A friend of mine called it counter-productive and "inaccurate" to imply he was a racist. 2/
