A Thread 🧵The First Presidential Debate between Harris and Trump. Fox News hosts had high hopes - It was a big night. If Trump could only stay calm, not get rattled, things should go well for him. The sugar high for Harris is over. She will have to attack. 1/8
The debate - one memorable moment - Vice President Kamala Harris encourages Americans to go to Trump rallies to watch supporters leave early. Trump is enraged. It’s one of many instances when she got under his skin. 2/8

A thread 🧵about how Fox News covered the border/immigration bill compared to how PBS NewsHour covered the same legislation. From the start Fox turned into some kind of joke. Jesse Watters implied it wasn’t bipartisan - it was. He also framed it as a trap for Republicans 1/4
Watters continues to imply the bill was written by Democrats. It was written by a Dem, a Republican and Independent. He also mislead his viewers about what the bill contained. PBS just laid it out with specifics. 2/4

When people tell me PBS has a left wing bias I laugh because I keep a spreadsheet of every single guests and keep track of how long each guest appears on the program. This is the breakdown of Fox News vs. PBS for elected official guests by party affiliation for 2023.
Also this is for anyone who claims Fox News has Democratic politicians on their network. If 6% is considered a lot then I guess so.

A thread 🧵an off year election night on ‘Hannity.’ Things look a bit gloomy early on as Hannity predicted big wins but Kayleigh McEnany was more cautious and Reince Priebus was resigned to whatever transpired. Abortion was the topic of the night 1/6
Charlie Hurt brought up blatant lies about late-term abortion and infanticide. Absolutely no one in the Democratic Party is advocating for infanticide which is illegal in every state. Late-term abortions are extremely rare and performed for medical reasons 2/6

Laura Ingraham openly mocked the toxic air in the Northeastern United States which is currently putting 75 million people at risk. She also laughed at the suggestion that Latino and Black children have higher rates of asthma. THEY DO have higher rates of asthma, that's not new.
The reason Black and Latino children have higher rates of asthma is that many of them live in areas where they are exposed to air pollution at a young age. There are clusters in NYC where asthma rates are higher that are near bus depots - Harlem, N. Manhattan, The Bronx

A 🧵thread about how Fox News took the DOE “low confidence” theory that COVID-19 may have leaked from a lab to promote misinformation about the disease. 1. Natural immunity - Fox seems to forget how randomly the disease killed people. 1/5
2. Masks - Somehow the origin of COVID meant that masks don’t work according to Fox. Dr. Marty Makary cites the Cochran Studies which some researchers have criticized. I provide several medical organizations that promote mask wearing. 2/5

A 🧵on media reporting - I clip Fox all day long. Sometimes a larger account will use my clip with no citation. Ultimately it’s Fox’s footage. We can all use media clips under Fair Use but it kind of cracks me up when I see it. 1/4
If I spend a ton of time on an edit - My infamous Trump “sniff” edits take about 2 hours to create, I will mark the footage with my full account name because it’s unique to me. If it’s just a random clip from a Fox show I don’t, as anyone could grab it. 2/4
