The @IAF_MCC commenced the spin flight testing of @HALHQBLR's Modified IJT in Bengaluru, today.

The indigenous Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) will replace the ageing Kiran aircraft fleet of the IAF.

HSTDV tested at 11 AM, 07 Sept 2020 from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Launch Complex at Wheeler Island, off the coast of Odisha.
The vehicle ws launched using a proven solid rocket motor, which took it to an alt of 30 km,
where the aero heat shields were separated at hypersonic Mach nO. +
The cruise vehicle separated from the launch vehicle and the air intake opened as planned.
The hypersonic combustion sustained and the cruise vehicle continued on its desired flight path at a velocity of MACH 6 i.e. nearly 2 km/s for more than 20s.
