The more time I've had to think about the Porzingis trade, the more I've come around to it from the Knicks perspective. Just had to separate out the frustration that this should have been avoidable if past mistakes weren't made, while recognizing that they were, and for a team in a tough spot given upcoming contract/injury/unhappiness of star, they now have a lot of options going forward.

Entering tonight's game, Markelle Fultz is shooting 34.6% from the field and averaging 12.3 points and 4.3 assists per 100 possessions when he's on the court with Ben Simmons. When he's on the court without Simmons, he's shooting 45.2% with 19.0 pts, 9.2 assists per 100. The Sixers, eventually, need to grow Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons' ability to play on the court together. But I'm not sure you can do that until Fultz is back up to near 100% of the Washington Fultz. I'm not sure minutes with Simmons are helping either him or the team right now
