Add me to a long list of BIPOC journalists wanting people running newsrooms to stop talking about diversity, equity, inclusion publicly, while behind closed doors they harm BIPOC journalists with racism, bullying, gaslighting, discrimination, tokenism. +sexism for female BIPOC.
I'm sick of seeing amazing BIPOC journalists who love their communities forced to leave journalism bc of failures in accountability/truth/justice/equity in their newsroom. Journalism is supposed to shine a light of truth on injustice, hold to account people abusing power to harm.

The investigations had 1 aim: Hold a child-welfare system accountable to families, public oversight.
I've a nose for injustice. Even I was shocked by how far judges/AG Office/DCS went to silence my reporting & the families. Mil gracias @AZPressClub for recognizing their stories!
Honored to share @AZPressClub awards for state/fed government & statewide social issues reporting w/some of the best AZ reporters.
