There should be a way to critique misguided policy of the previous administration to illustrate ways in which a new one would do things differently. Only in this Trump-crazed environment is a legit critique turned into an “attack.” There is no comparison between Obama and Trump on immigration, but the deportation policy was flawed. Democrats should reclaim the high road on immigration by reminding voters that under Obama we had bipartisan support for comprehensive reform with a pathway to citizenship.
