Why #Monero as freedom money?

It would be easier to support something like Bitcoin Cash or Litecoin. Both work, they both offer privacy tools, are listed on every exchange, and are not subject to the regulatory risks Monero is.

So, why Monero when there are easier options? 👇 Since chainalysis entered the scene in mid-early 2010s, we were told Bitcoin privacy would improve. We had a proposal for confidential transactions. We were told L2s would bring privacy. 2/9

The situation with the influx of Monero transactions:

Anywhere from 3-6k txs in the mempool for past few hrs. Theres currently a backlog of 19 blocks worth of transactions waiting to be confirmed on #Monero, and the QoS of public nodes has degraded. 1/4

Image Block sizes continue to grow, but not fast enough to accomodate the demand, because not people or transactions are choosing to pay higher fees.

Flooding the chain with minimum fee txs does very little to expand the block size. 2/4

United States Government to create a registry of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency miners and their geographic locations, with a daily fine of $10,633 for failure to comply.

#Monero solves this with CPU mining, which is difficult if not impossible to target. 1/4

Coming from Bitcoin, when I began using #Monero in 2020 I noticed Monero's infrastructure lagging far behind compared to Bitcoin.

A lot of building has happened since then, and I would now say Monero is close to being caught up.

This is a 🧵exploring some advancements.

Governments woke up one day and realized they were losing control. Encrypted communications, free access to information, and the freedom to transact diminish the returns to violence and ability to extort.

#Monero is one of the few things that remain outside of their control.

Bitcoin came into existence to be an alternative, NOT to be part of the U.S. financial system

Before sounding the alarm as if a new vulnerability was found, it is important to ask yourself "Do I know what I'm talking about?"

If there's doubt, you are doing one of two things:
1-misleading those who think you know what you're talking about
2-damaging your credibility

All this dystopia has me feeling bleak about the future. Reading The Sovereign Individual to get my mind back on track.

As I read, I will post quotes I like in this thread🧵: Image "If our deductions are correct, you stand at the threshold of the most sweeping revolution in history. Faster than all but a few now imagine, microprocessing will subvert and destroy the nation state... This will be far from an easy transformation."

Chris is mistaken, but the topic is very nuanced.

I'm going to make this as simple as possible.

This is Bitcoin:
10+11 = 21

and this is Monero:
(5 * 4 + 7) - (2^3 + √(144)) + (16-2)= 21

As you can see, both have the same solution, both are auditable, Monero is more complex. My full response

Falling down the watch collecting rabbit hole...

Current top contender for purchase is the Baltic Aquascaphe GMT in grey.

Thoughts from any collectors who follow me? Or anyone who owns one? ImageImage kinda torn between the GMT and the classic version which I actually like the look of more, but no date window and no gmt obviously (but also $400 cheaper) Image
