We have written to @GregHuntMP on the recent recommendation from ATAGI about the need for a booster COVID-19 vaccination shot in individuals who are severely immunocompromised. We have noted with disappointment that people with Down syndrome have not been included in this advice. Adults with Down syndrome are at increased risk for more severe outcomes following infection with COVID-19. There is also evidence that adults with Down syndrome are at higher risk of breakthrough infection (after vaccination) and severe outcomes.
