Here's something interesting to think about. For the theologians on the TL.

In John's revelation of Jesus he saw this.

Revelation 17:9
“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are SEVEN HILLS on which the woman sits.

"The woman" is Babylon. Revelation 17:5
The name written on her forehead was a mystery:
BABYLON THE GREAT
THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

So Babylon, who is the embodiment of lust if the flesh, lust if the eyes and pride of life;

Who drink the blood of God's people;

So when you can refute what the Bible has said, the next thing is to start strawman and emotional blackmail.

"You lack empathy."

Really? Doctor Xavier, really?

People who have never been persecuted, never supported christians in the North suddenly have empathy in elections. Very few of you have seen the persecution I've seen. Very few of you have lost everything to pogroms.

Very few of you know what it means to be raising money for christians in Borno and get a call from Abuja warning you to be careful because the Govt is tracking people.

The church is the bride of Christ, the house of God and the centre of the growth of God's children.

It is not a tool to be wielded for politics.

It is an organisation that transcends such terrestrial issues.

It has survived anything thrown at it. It will continue to do so. I'm a minister and it is my job to tell you the truth even when it's bitter, even when you're forgetting yourself.

You want to place your faith in man but I will continue to remind you till you block me or you learn the hard way.

Our faith must be in God.

We will vote rightly-

Three fun facts about Joseph, Daniel and Esther.

Ancient near eastern history helps to put a lot of things in context.

1) Neither of them sought their positions. They all found themselves there by providence.

In fact, They could not have even conceived of those positions. 2) They were glorified slaves. All three of their lives were owned by their kings.

They lived and existed by on the good mood of their kings.

If any of them had moved anyhow, spoken out of turn, acted funny, their kings would have had their heads on a pike in an instant.

I don't know why it's so hard for non-Christians and even some untaught Christians to understand why the clergy MUST do it's best to be non-partisan in politics, at least publicly.

A little critical thinking will reveal that "better" candidate is not always clear.

This means- - if you lay the foundations for clergy wielding their massive social power to sway elections, a time will come when you and the pastor have differences on what constitutes a better candidate.

What will happen then?

Will you start cursing them for tilting elections against you?

Gifts of the spirit are just too valuable for confirming the gospel to the unsaved and for edifying and building up the church for us not to desire them.

To know how how valuable they are and not desire them is to not be passionate about the unsaved or the body of Christ. I think the reformers clearly inherited their cessationist tendencies from the Roman Catholic Church.

And the tendency for cessationism goes back. Way back to the 4th century with the rise of Christian nationalism in Rome. You see hints of it in Athanasius and Eusebius.

Please don't change your vows from "in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer" to "in health and in health, for richer and richer".

I understand your impulse for positive confession but this is actually a negative confession. It's a bad thing.

It's an oath to remain - - faithful no matter what.

If you change it to "positive confession" it means you're confessing that your spouse can abandon you in tough times.

That is not a marriage because painful times WILL COME. Tribulation WILL come.

Swear your oath of fidelity like Christians please.

Have you noticed that neither the Lord nor the Apostles in all the new testament glorified being rich as an ideal to strive towards?

Check it.

Instead they warned about mammon as a deceitful idol that makes it hard for people to enter heaven.

Do you know why?

I'll explain. They recongnised that riches are deceitful.

Being rich has a way of making you feel immortal. It makes you rely on it more and more because it can answer many issues.

Another thing is that it awakens appetites in you and opens your eyes to pleasures you weren't aware of before.

Praying in tongues is ONE of the ways that prayer in the spirit is enunciated.

It is NOT the only way to pray in the Spirit.

Speech impaired christians can pray in the spirit because prayer in the spirit is to pray with your innerman.

You can travail and not even utter a word. Praying in tongues does not mean the Holyspirit is praying on your behalf either.

The ministry of intercession of the Holyspirit as taught in Rom 8 is something that happens apart and retrospective to the believers conscious prayer.

That ministry happens whether you pray in -

Here's a fun fact for you to think about.

In neuroscience, when a brain scan shows no activity, it means that part of the brain is not being used.

The frontal lobe is the seat of language and cognition.

It means if you're paying attention, your frontal lobe should light up. It means while this man was speaking in tongues, his mind was absent.

But the interesting thing is that what Paul said is the mind is unfruitful not that the mind is absent.

Because if the mind is absent, the prayer is not heartfelt. How will you pray with THE UNDERSTANDING.

As you grow spiritually, you would have noticed that it feels wrong to give thanks at the expense of others' misfortune.

You might not have scriptural backing but you'd know it's not right to thank God because "other people are sick but God healed me"

Here's what the Bible says Romans 12:15
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

There are lots of carnal responses to good times and bad times which we don't realise.

The first one is the aforementioned.

Another one is feeling guilty when pleasant things happen to you but others-

OK. Let me just explain for edification and not for argument sake.

When a 1st Century Jewish person calls an outsider a dog it's not really to dehumanise. It's to refer to their uncleanness and separation from the covenant.

That's why the Syro-phroenician woman didn't reply- - with negative emotions.

When Paul calls outsiders dogs, it's not to dehumanise them. In their context they would have known what it means.

When Peter says a dog has gone back to his vomit, it's not a dehumanising term. It's talking of someone going back to uncleanness.

Bros, this is not clever.

Somethings require authority to say. Some things are the entitlement of all believers.

Being able to stand and excommunicate a person requires authority. It's that authority that enables one to call an incorrigible person a dog.

A baby doesn't just- - wake up and call another believer a dog even if he thinks he's a heretic. Because the babe needs to be proven to be credible and tí know what they're saying.

That's why you don't see just anybody branding others a heretic or calling them dogs or bastards.

You see that?

Are we now going out of our way to look for insults in the Bible to call people?

I'm willing to be disagreeable to contend for the truth but deliberately calling people names and citing number of times those words were used without regard for context and Apostolic authority... You people are bringing the flesh to this thing.

You people just like abusing others. And lucky for you, Paul did abuse people.

The difference is he used it for incorrigible heretics and enemies of the gospel. Not God's children who need help growing.

Any small thing, you-

Fam, 😭😭

The wealth of the nations that will flow into the house of God in the last days is a foreshadowing the gospel reaching all the nations of the world.

The house of God, the church, will be filled with souls from all nations.

Fam, See what Paul called Gentile riches... Rom 11:11-12
...have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

The Naira will strengthen the day Emefiele leaves office based on speculation alone.

His time in the CBN is a great evil that has plagued Nigerians in the last years. It is second only to the current presidency that kept him there.

And third is this rubber Stamp legislature. For some reason, all the major organs of government colluded to do us evil

Their work had a weird kind of compound interest effect.

The army has had its worst leadership. The judiciary was a total fiasco.

The attorney general is a disaster.

And the common thread is the party.

Rejecting a Muslim-Muslim ticket is not mere religious sentiments for us.

It is pragmatic risk management.

Nigeria is the country with the greatest Christian deaths from persecution as we speak. A Christian in the highest office is the least we could ask as guarantees that- - there will be some mitigation of this persecution.

Yes. We know it is not an absolute safe-guard. But we will take the mere communication of inclusivity, the mere affirmation that it is not ONLY Muslims who can do it well.

We all know terrosits have friends in government.

God's word never falls to the ground.

If there are conditions or changes in the course of events, it will be by the same word.

God's word doesn't Ghost us. 😂😂

The ancients and the Apostles had good standards for claims of divine inspiration.

Please, let's not drop it now. If we are claiming it is God and the prophecy is always Ghosting, we should reason it well o.

For the last time, let me drop what Moses the man of God said.

Read well

Deuteronomy 18:21
You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?”

The defintion of false prophesying is when you say it is from God but it doesn't come to pass. Come on guys!

If a prophecy "foretelling" of an event is from God and people pray and God changes the outcome, it doesn't qualify as "didn't come to pass".

It came to pass but in a different way ordained by God Himself.

Stop with the examples of people praying to change it.

Gentle reminder

Despite all that the church went through, the christians in Rome did not start campaigning for any emperor.

They continued to be good citizens, avoided needless persecution and continued to trust God.

Church and politics must never mix. They're parallel lines. Interestingly the thing that made the Flavians to destroy the temple and deal mercilessly with Judea was when the Jewish people violently kicked against taxation

There's lesson there

Ours is not a kingdom of this world. We are pilgrims

We have to be careful not to get attached

There are three questions to consider.

Can a woman evangelise? And at what point should the line between preaching the gospel and teaching be drawn?

Can a woman teach teenage boys the gospel?

Since both Paul and Timothy were unmarried, does that exclude them based on this- - reading of the criteria for Pastors?

If women can preach the gospel and prophesy, it's hard to find a coherent way to exclude them from leading when they're elders just because they're female.

If a woman is the first to be saved in a village in China, will she not pastor her-
