#NFL Injury Round Up - 9/14/23

1/ Cooper Kupp - Hamstring reinjury, grade 1. ON IR. No major updates. 2 poss. here: Returns in W5 & returns to 85% of his 2021-22 volume. Or, something MAJOR is going on & he’s not able to play this entire year. Too quiet = red flags. 2/ Jerry Jeudy - Hamstring grade 2. 80% healthy. He’s playing W2, but moderate/high risk for reinjury. Risky early in season, not 100% until W5-6.

Suffered a cardiac arrest likely due to #commotiocordis.

Some important things to note:

1. Commotio cordis occurs when an object, usually a baseball, hits the chest well.

2. This has to happen at an exact spot in the cardiac cycle (T wave).

(1/) 3. This causes the heart to go from returning to a normal rhythm to becoming Ventricular Fibrillation (VFib).

4. This is RARE. Usually seen in younger male athletes.

5. This is NOT related to vaccines or viruses. 🚨
