Apologies in advance for the long thread, but it is important to highlight this in full as viral false claims on social media have real world impacts on trans people.

The Finnish registry study on gender affirming care (GAC) and mental health outcomes, widely cited on social media by those with gender critical beliefs, is being misrepresented. It does not demonstrate that GAC is ineffective, and the reasons are grounded in basic epidemiology and study validity.

Once again we see @Telegraph falsely claim GC voices are “experts” whilst trying to erase the lived experience of maternity service users.

A whole year after publication, the paper, well known to be on an anti/trans crusade, has published an article that claims an @LGBTfdn Image detailed survey of over 121 trans and non-binary people’s experience of maternity care is “methodologically flawed”.
