I love Soc of Edu literature on class and HE, but it seems to begin with barriers to entry & 'end' with graduation. Discussions on the professions are included @SamFriedmanSoc & @Daniel_Laurison & @drlouiseashley are fab examples.
But research on working-class academics (WCA) 1/ tends to sit within WC studies(a fascinating field) but it means that the literature on what happens to those WP students (typically WC, also other barriers) who go onto HE as PhD students GTAs, Research Assts, Lecturers gets excluded/ignored. Thread. Dear All, I just want to say its so good to have more 'people like me'. Some may know I am doing research on working class academics. I've experienced conflict and microagressions with my use of that term, but you know what I am going to keep on using it as that is /1 how my respondents & I have defined ourselves.
