I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of ourLord Jesus Christ …that there be no divisions among you. 1 Corinthians 1: 10 "If controversies cause any divisions among you, look first to the interest of common truth and good in love. Do not become a passionate contender for any party in the division, but join more with the moderate and peacemakers than with the divisive.

Hyperbole and exaggeration can be an effective rhetorical device in writing, speeches, and sermons. But it also can be abused. We live in an age where there are a cacophony of voices, and where to make your voice heard it is tempting to exaggerate, to say that something is the most important issue of our time.

I think Romans 14 helps us on the matter of wearing masks, though I am not saying that those who believe we should wear masks are weak in faith. Remember in Romans 14 the strong believed they could eat foods that were unclean according to the OT (Lev. 11 & Deut. 14), and they also believed that the sabbath and special feast days were no longer mandatory.

I think the unforgivable sin is apostasy; that is what it means to blaspheme against the Spirit. In this thread I show a few verses that support this notion. See these verses from Deuteronomy 29:18–21
