Having survived homelessness and traumas of displacement, I understand the challenges of dealing with complex PTSD firsthand. 2/ Anxiety, depression & PTSD are soaring amongst refugees and asylum-seekers.

I’ve met many Afghan families and children, many still in temporary accommodations.

They've survived unimaginable traumas and are going through further traumas. Self-harm and suicide risks are real.

Our healthcare and economy are broken but alive because of refugees & migrants.
UK now rejects every refugee who comes through irregular route to seek safety while no regular ways are available.

People flee because of genuine risk to their lives, and lack of hope and future for themselves and their families.

Just home from frontline ED, late shifts every weekend since pandemic. And I'm horrified to see images of anti-lockdown protesters in London.

Devastating for NHS staff spending entire year serving public, losing colleagues, risking our lives & families. Is this what we deserve? Beside NHS and its staff from all different backgrounds, other key workers and millions of people, in the country and globally, have suffered and sacrificed.

It's not time for hatred or misinformation. Let's get behind science in solidarity and show each other compassion.
