I’m reminded of the time I was working on a show, and we were going to introduce a new character. And I suggested - since we had 0 LGBTQ characters at that time - that we make the character gay. And later, one of the other writers - whom I considered a friend at that time - came into my office, sat down, and said he wished I hadn’t suggested that. (He and I were at the same title level on that show.)
