1/15 Why are academics such A**HOLES on Twitter?
I think thereโ€™s an answer particular to our guild. Or, โ€œWhen honor/shame cults find a deserving scapegoat.โ€
(I know how judg-y this is of me, but I think thereโ€™s something true about my suggestions below!) 2/x I used to struggle to find ways to describe the honor/shame culture to undergrads. Then I finally realized that academics is a form of an honor/shame cult. But students are often mystified by descriptions of how academics act w/ each other (rightfully so, I am too).

If you're teaching philosophy in a Christian context (esp. phil of rel), you should seriously consider including the philosophy of the biblical authors themselves.

1/25 I challenged 80 @thekingscollege freshmen to a 7-day digital fast from phones, digital media, and screens (where possible). I had them reading my book *Human Rites* (table of contents below) and writing reflections each of the 7 days. 2/25 After reading 560 of their daily reflections as they detoxed from their phones and other media, I offer you all summaries of the GOOD, BAD, and UGLY realities coursing through their hearts and minds.
