1/15 Why are academics such A**HOLES on Twitter?
I think there’s an answer particular to our guild. Or, “When honor/shame cults find a deserving scapegoat.”
(I know how judg-y this is of me, but I think there’s something true about my suggestions below!) 2/x I used to struggle to find ways to describe the honor/shame culture to undergrads. Then I finally realized that academics is a form of an honor/shame cult. But students are often mystified by descriptions of how academics act w/ each other (rightfully so, I am too).

If you're teaching philosophy in a Christian context (esp. phil of rel), you should seriously consider including the philosophy of the biblical authors themselves.
