New report launched today by @ucl and ECPAT UK found that placing unaccompanied children in Home Office hotels, as occurred between July 2021 and January 2024, increased their risks of trafficking and exploitation.

@ucl These hotels were described by children as feeling like a “jail”, with some children left in them for several months despite the Home Office commitment to only use them for emergency purposes and never for longer than two weeks.
