The reason there are "no riots" in America is simple: white liberals and even leftists for the most part are arguably the single most cowardly group of politically oriented people on the planet.

Simple as White American liberals are somehow both some of the least repressed people on the planet, yet also the most utterly paralyzed with fear over the threat of police repression. Black Americans and indigenous Americans, despite being the most repressed people in the USA...

Bookchin's eurocentrism has always been an annoying feature of his works, but holy shit is it particularly noxious in his introductions to "the third revolution". His devaluation of the 20th century national liberation struggles, his complete erasure of the Korean anarchist revolution, his refusal to mention the Mexican revolution, and his complete obliviousness to the Zapatistas movement are all such obvious showings of his bias.

Thing that shouldn't be a hot take but seems like it might be:

Racial separatist movements of the oppressed are not morally equivalent to racial separatist movements meant to further dispossess the oppressed. Whenever black nationalism is brought up, people correctly point out that black nationalism is not the same as black separatism. This is correct. Black nationalism is an umbrella term used for many movements that seek to foster and develop black unity and empowerment

I'm going to initiate some Christianity discourse, because I've always found the way leftists talk about Christianity uncomfortable, and I'd like to cease that discomfort. I'm especially curious to hear the thoughts of some of my christian anarchist and socialist comrades such as @VoluntaryDom on this because y'all are actually still in the faith and have found a way to reconcile it with your liberatory outlooks.

Imma be totally honest. Shit like this is why it's really hard for me not to hate christianity. This man makes beautiful music. I grew up with this man as a regular part of my musical diet. I'll never be able to listen to his music the same way again So much of christianity is based on what effectively amounts to self hate. A perpetual state of guilt that is used to prevent people from actually embracing themselves in favor of some narrow idea of acceptable behavior.

the Soc dem left lexi discourse confirms one of my fears about the ways we have generally argued for queer liberation. Historically, the argument has revolved around whether or not being gay or trans is a choice. This rhetorical device made it easy to compare queer liberation to the civil rights movement, which likely played a central role in increasing queer acceptance.

I don't have a Marxist bf/gf to read and critique Bookchin passages/works with me, so I suppose y'all will have to suffice. What do my Marxist friends think of this passage from Bookchin's "Free Cities"?

The history of marginalized people's struggle for liberation is the history of those marginalized groups being internally divided into the good one's and the bad one's by those in power. This history manages to do harm to both the said "good ones" and their "bad" counterparts.

I think a lot of authentic leftists have warped perspectives on right libertarians, likely because they don't spend any time in right libertarian spaces (the reverse is also true, but that's not important rn). Like, there is this idea that libertarians are mostly weed liking conservatives, but honestly, based on my interactions with them it really isn't that simple.
