What's driving the Inequality crisis? There's a variety of intersecting issues but here in this thread are five key systems that cause this crisis, we'll focus on one a day over the course of the week. #FightInequality#InequalityVirus #WEF211. PATRIARCHY
Sexist patriarchal attitudes & norms place the needs of men first. Those ten millionaires that have gained half a TRILLION DOLLARS since the pandemic started. Any of them women??
Of course not!

.@Oxfam warns half a billion people could be pushed into poverty by @coronavirus - between 6 & 8% of the global population could be forced into poverty as governments shut down entire economies to manage the spread of the virus

Existing inequalities dictate the economic impact of the crisis. The poorest workers in all nations are less likely to be in formal employment, enjoy labour protections eg sick pay,or be able to work from home. Just 1 in 5 unemployed people have access to unemployment benefits

@KimM_C@stevept@FionnaCSmyth@tannerruth Good question! For me (based on15 years of my total working life working from home so just from a personal perspective) chat apps are key - Skype, Teams, WhatsApp whatever team members are happiest with. That's how I communicate with people IRL anyway, so it's not a stretch 1/@KimM_C@stevept@FionnaCSmyth@tannerruth I'm becoming a fan of Teams as it develops - video on as much as possible is key. To do this you need v good internet (4G is fine), organising regular, short-sharp team meetings so people can understand what each other are up to & make connections that you would otherwise miss 2/
