Optimising for a life the rat race cannot measure. Building what the incumbents cannot price. Holding what they cannot inflate.

1/ First time I watched Fight Club, I was a teenager. I thought it was the coolest thing ever put on film.

I watched it again recently in my forties. I finally understood what it was actually about. And almost everyone I know who loves it is still watching it the way I did at 17. 🧵👇 2/ If you only know it by reputation, here’s the shape of it. Chuck Palahniuk wrote the novel in 1996, and it was adapted into a film by David Fincher in 1999. The film is famously faithful to the book with a few changes, the biggest being the ending, which Palahniuk has said he prefers to his own.

1/ Most British people have never heard of the Fabian Society. That is not an accident. It is the entire point. They have spent 140 years making themselves invisible, and the result is that you now live in a country they designed without knowing they did. 🧵👇 2/ They were founded in 1884. Nine intellectuals in a London room. They named themselves after a Roman general who refused to fight pitched battles and instead wore his enemy down through patience. They were explicit about this. The name is the strategy.

1/ Thought experiment doing the rounds in my head this morning. Burnham replaces Starmer. He walks into Number 10 with the Manchester accent and the real Labour framing. He announces the renationalisation of water, energy, rail, and grid. All of it. Funded by, well, vibes mostly.
Here’s how the next twelve months actually play out. 👇🧵 2/
The first fortnight is honeymoon territory. The press confuses regional accent with economic competence, which is a very British mistake we make every fifteen years or so. Polling is generous. The cabinet looks energetic. The mandate feels real.
Sterling drops 6% against the dollar in a month. Treasury calls it “transitional friction.”

There’s a tired argument that never seems to die:

“Toxic Bitcoin maximalism is hurting Bitcoin.”

But they’ve misunderstood something fundamental.

Toxic Bitcoin maximalism is a biological necessity. Let me explain.
A 🧵👇 Nature doesn't apologise for its defenders.

In the natural world, defence is not polite.

It’s brutal, specialised, and unrelenting.

People wait their entire lives to finally start living. They wait for the job to ease up, for the kids to grow, for the pension to arrive.

But by the time freedom knocks… there’s nothing left of them. This is not an accident. It’s the plan. 👇 You’re born into a conveyor belt of
study, work, marry, buy, obey, and retire.

A one-size-fits-all with no questions asked.

If you break ranks, you’re called irresponsible.

If you conform, you’re applauded for dying slowly.

Do Not Buy Bitcoin. A 🧵 Image 1/ Do not buy Bitcoin.
Unless you’re prepared to wake up and realise no one’s coming to save you.
No government.
No politician.
No financial adviser.
Just you, your keys, and a silence that doesn’t blink.

When I first bought #Bitcoin, I thought I would quickly get rich. What I didn’t realise was how much it would change me, far beyond numbers on a chart. Here are the real lessons that came from hodling through that red box. A 🧵 Image 2/ Patience isn’t a tactic; it’s a mindset. #Bitcoin doesn’t move on our timeline, and learning to wait—really wait—taught me to let go of that need for instant results. True value doesn’t come overnight.

1/ I'm a marketer so I’ve been looking at Microsoft’s #Bitcoin proposal through the lens of intangibles—reputation, brand perception, and innovation. The genie is out of the bottle. Here's why. 👇 🧵 2/ #Bitcoin has arrived. (But you know that!) It's now serious corporate consideration. Whether or not they choose to invest, this conversation is now happening in boardrooms.

I was asked to do a thread on this book so here it is: 🧵 👇

1/13 I've been reading "Die with Zero" by Bill Perkins and it's seriously challenging my stack at all costs and hodl-forever mindset. Here's why this book is giving me food for thought:
#Bitcoin #DieWithZero Image 2/13 First, Perkins isn't anti-saving. He's pro-living. The book's central idea is to maximise life experiences, not just your bank balance. As Bitcoiners, we're used to thinking long-term, but are we missing out on life now?
