We’ve seen a version of this argument a lot recently from the river to the sea crowd. First off it was Israel’s national security establishment, not just Netanyahu. Also the policy was to allow Qatar to fund Gazan infrastructure and humanitarian projects controlled by Hamas This was obviously a grave error. But this is not the main reason as to why Palestinian leadership is divided. Let’s start with the 2006 election. After the PA refuses to seat Hamas aligned legislators, Hamas conducts a violent coup in Gaza, throwing security officials off of rooftops and releasing secret security documents to the press

The Steele Dossier analogy is incorrect for a few reasons. To start, the issue is not whether the NYPOST should have run the story based on Hunter's laptop. Rather, the issue is whether Twitter and Facebook should have throttled or banned the NYPOST article, locked out NYPOST opinion account and @kayleighmcenany for tweeting the article, and taken other steps to prevent its spread online.

At this point the only sane and moral Iran policy for America is to undermine, isolate and delegitimize the Iranian regime. That means—at the very least—announcing that there is no possibility of ever reaching an agreement with Khamenei’s gang of fanatic terrorists. It also means working with Starlink and other tech companies to overcome the regime’s control and blockade of the internet. The US should take steps to wall off frozen oil revenues and reserve them for a post revolution government.

A few responses. First of all, I do think a newly elected president shouldn't be treated like a mob boss, particularly if you are relying in part on evidence of his alleged criminality provided by his political opponent. As some of the affidavits declassified in 2020 show, rank and file FBI agents believed the investigation into Trump Russia had hit a dead end by the end of 2016 and senior bureau officials insisted on keeping the probe open. This is what happened with Flynn and also

Her campaign’s lawyer also presented it to the FBI’s general counsel in an effort to gin up an investigation. When a lower level FBI investigator looked at a white paper alleging the server back channel, he quickly surmised it was garbage.

A few points on the new campaign to deplatform @joerogan. The deplatformers show contempt for his audience. They posit that people who listen to his podcast will conclude that vaccines are dangerous because they are too ignorant to evaluate dissenting experts. The public health professionals who wrote the initial letter did not seek to debate Rogan's guests. They want spotify to censor those guests. Why not engage Malone? He's not a crank. He is a pioneer in MRNA research. Demonstrate why he's wrong instead of censoring him.

Ignatius is one of the greats, but even the greats can be wrong. This column attempts to blame Trump for Putin’s aggression at Ukraine’s border. It’s true that Trump’s rhetorical sycophancy towards Putin was awful. But his policies were strong. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/… He armed Ukraine when Obama wouldn't. He enforced sanctions on Nordstream 2, when Biden doesn't. He appointed hawks to his nat sec cabinet. He shut down Russia's consulate/spy station in San Francisco. He withdrew from INF and recognized Juan Guaido.

Listen to this podcast from @bariweiss where she interviews @MaudMaron, a progressive lawyer who devoted her career to representing the most vulnerable New Yorkers. honestlypod.com/podcast/episod… Maud was publicly smeared by her colleagues because she wanted merit based testing for selective NYC public high schools, and she was willing to fight for that on her local school board and run for city council. For this she was deemed a witch and duly hunted.

A few thoughts on the transcript. First off, it's important to remember that what's at stake is whether the calls indicated that Flynn was a Russian agent. That's what the FBI was investigating. The bureau was prepared to close that probe on Jan. 4, 2017. So the call or calls was the reason Comey instructed Strzok to keep it open. So what does the transcript show? An incoming NSA asking the Russian ambassador not to get into a tit for tat. "We don't want to be tough guys."

Brief note on NBC North Korea story on US dropping demand for full inventory of nuke and missile program. nbcnews.com/politics/white… In this speech from US special envoy Steve Biegun he addresses the inventory question. nbcnews.com/politics/white… He says: "Before the process of denuclearization can be final, we must also have a complete understanding of the full extent of the North Korean weapons of mass destruction missile programs.”
