Come on, Mike.

In your 14 years in Congress, you co-sponsored FOUR bills — the last one with Jim Jordan in 2013 — that would have the same effect as the Alabama Supreme Court’s IVF ruling, making it impossible for millions of couples to have a family. You don’t get to run away from your own record because you’re just now understanding the consequences. Here was the first one: congress.gov/bill/109th-con…

Let’s review the bidding: nearly a year ago, @TTuberville began blocking military promotions over the @DeptofDefense’s post-Roe policy of giving service women time off to travel for an abortion. Today, he gave in & allowed 425 promotions, but held those for 12 four-star officers. What this year-long story makes clear is that repealing Roe v. Wade was not enough for many in Congress – they won’t be satisfied until they impose a nationwide ban on abortion, and they will use every tool at their disposal, including restricting it for women serving their country.

This is how I know the ground is shifting in Michigan on the issue of gun safety: Since Monday, I’ve received more messages of support for MSU than I can count, including a ton of texts & calls from Republican constituents & leaders who I know to be avid hunters & sportsmen. 1/ 2/ These folks call to tell me that while they love their hobby & don’t want someone taking their guns, they also can’t stand to see the gun violence we’re seeing again and again and again. These folks are just as fed up and angry as anyone who’s been calling me.

The whiplash of today’s court rulings related to Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban makes 1 thing clear: we must do away with it once & for all to preserve personal freedom & avoid the fear & confusion this ongoing litigation creates for providers & women across the state. (1/9) Thankfully, the latest ruling in Oakland County today means that abortion won’t be prosecuted in the state of Michigan, at least for now. Allowing the ban to take full effect will have chilling consequences on services, no matter what county you live in. (2/9)

I know there was a ton going on last week in D.C. and in Lansing, but buried in all that news was a critical item: Republicans in the Michigan Senate took an awful procedural vote that protected big drug companies’ interests — at the expense of Michiganders. (1/5) Did you know that Michigan is the only state in the entire country that protects pharmaceutical companies from any kind of lawsuit if the products they make cause serious harm or death? The only one. (2/5)

As a former CIA officer, I never thought I'd see the day when the Commander in Chief would side with Russia over his own Intelligence and Law Enforcement Community. The President's words at his press conference stand in complete contrast to the facts and contravene his basic responsibility to protect our country from all threats, foreign and domestic.
