The best part of the anti-lockdown paper is that it is obvious for anyone reading it how useless it is, hence exposing those amplifying. Short 🧵

The key:
1) Almost all weight (>90%) weight on one single study!
2) The authors of that one study do not agree with the conclusion! The selection of the few papers that are taken into account (the strongest studies are not considered at all), their relative weight, what is defined as lockdowns, the timing and so on are also considerable weaknesses (discussed in more detail by others).

🧵 Since I notice an increasing number of otherwise very reasonable people saying “we have to learn to live with the virus” I’d like to briefly spell out why I find it a fundamentally flawed idea. It is no coincidence that the skilled AIER/Koch/GBD PR people use this phrasing. The same crowd has in the past been successful arguing that we have to learn to "live with climate change" [1] and “flattening the curve” [2].
