After my dad was killed in the Bosnian war, I asked to see him. I just didn't want to believe he is indeed dead.

So, similar to many children in Gaza, I saw a parent I adored and loved wrapped up in a white sheet.

Let me tell you what it does to a child. 🧵 Losing my dad at the age of 8 was the most excruciating pain I’ve felt in my life. Even as I write this, my heart wants to jump out of my chest. I remember every detail of it. How hot it was. The pain in my grandfather's voice as he cried out the name of his son.
