Thread: This is the story is about the Al Iqab unit. Which translates to the “Punishment unit” This was the name given to a special commando unit, in the Eritrean Liberation Front (ELF) trained by the Palestinian Liberation Front(PLO). A special unit that targeted Ethiopian planes in 1969.
It was established by Osman Saleh Sabbe, supervised personally by him. He selected the members of the unit and even participated in transporting weapons and explosives to the site of the operations.
