Life comes at you fast! A few months ago @OwenJones84 was following me on here. Yesterday he blocked me after I tweeted a Spanish cover of his book, saying it looked like a classic Nazi caricature.

1/7 If this had been a matter concerning any other prejudice, I assume Owen would have taken a moment to reflect. Instead, he responded within 3 minutes with: "what the hell is wrong with you".

No time even to take a closer look or ask his Jewish friends for a second opinion. 2/7

Exactly a week ago, I was physically carried - while clutching my ticket - out of a hotel holding a publicly advertised meeting organised by someone hoping to be my MP (Jenny Manson) and headlined by someone hoping to be the UK's next Chancellor (@johnmcdonnellmp). A THREAD... Like 10s of people, my ticket was cancelled -24hrs before. Apparently, for me, it was because I did not have "media accreditation". Others claimed it was because they had "Jewish-sounding names". I wanted to go as a constituent but because I happen to work in media, I was banned.

I am an NW2 constituent (who happens to be a journalist). I came to Jenny Manson/@johnmcdonnellMP talk with ticket, ID (& press card if they'd wanted) and plenty of courtesy and patience. But my name had been crossed off the list and organisers told security to manhandle me out For the record, I am not and have never been an activist. I am a constituent. And a journalist. And don't believe that either should bar me from a publicly advertised political meeting in my constituency. (Here's my rain-sodden ticket.)

Politics 2018. Booked a ticket to hear a talk with Jenny Manson and @johnmcdonnellMP. She is hoping to become a parliamentary candidate in my local area. Just hours before the public meeting, have had my ticket arbitrarily cancelled because I happen to work in the media. And I'm not the only one. @BarnetMomentum has had a busy night, cancelling people's tickets in the early hours. And most have nothing to do with the media...
