First, this is not true. It removes requirement to have a police chief from the City Charter. The Council could still choose to have a Police Chief & the Charter outlines the process for having other officers: library.municode.com/mn/minneapolis…

My neighbors & I protected our home @MidtownGlobal bldg for 4+ hrs tonight as nearly every building around us fell. We stopped 5 attempts to breach & deterred more I’m sure. I ended up aiming a community fire hose brought in lieu of the fire dept. We stepped up when govt didn’t
I saw wanton destruction of property. Heard dozens of gunshots close to me. All by people who didn’t even know what neighborhood they were in. For most, it was sport. Kids from the suburbs and exurbs (multiple WI plates), some opportunistic looters, and middle aged people too
