The most diabolical trick every played on humanity was to convince people that you could be a capitalist without, in fact, owning any capital at all.
The US is the only place in the world where the people without a penny in the bank would describe themselves as "capitalists".
For Europeans, this is hard to understand. It is similar to the arguments made by American right wing apologists for wealth inequality when they say "everyone can be in that top 1%." It simply makes no sense.

Been thinking about Bernie.
People make much of the fact that he is an Independent, but that affiliation is really only due to the particular political dynamics of Vermont. In practicality, Bernie is a Democrat, through and through.

Indeed, I would argue that he is more loyal to the Dem Party establishment than many actual Democrats. He has always caucused with the Democrats, and he has always seen that his path to power and influence lies through the Democratic Leadership.

"Work hard and play by the rules" was the anthem and catchphrase of Clintonian Neoliberalism. Bill Clinton coined these exact words in 1992 and used them throughout his term in office. 1/7
