"A giant hot pink neon sociopath, making every nerve fibre in men's being scream bloody murder." Apparently. Lovely really. The future is female (liberation).

Listening to @BBCMoreOrLess on cats going missing. Whilst insurance companies just made the 3 a second (🤯) shit up obvs it happens too often and is devastating. I found my Luci after a month by finding advice on a random message board, hidden on page 20ish of a Google search > I've been contacted a couple of times since then by people writing research and PhDs!! It's such commonsense when you think about it but always worth spreading the word... Basically it's all about being smelly and making a route back home. >

What was your favourite bit of nonsense from @KateOsborneMP in today's @Commonswomequ?
Was it:

1) Claiming trans hate crime is under reported when we know there's a push to report anything, including "misgendering" and being correctly sexed. > 2) Blaming politicians rather than the intimidation tactics and authoritarian behaviour of TRAs for the toxicity of discussions.

3) Claiming talking honestly about the increase in trans identification/impact on LG youth is "inflaming" the situation. >

This really is shocking from Stonewall. "Desire led intimate interaction" is an attempt to reframe sex by deception.
They're claiming the fact a person might not consent if they knew someone's sex is less important than the initial desire they had based in ignorance. > In a world without such deeply embedded ideas about sexuality that might be fine but we don't live in that world. For most people sexuality and desire is very much tied to the sex of their partners. That's why Stonewall exists ffs. Lots of people might feel fleeting attraction >

"We have concluded that there is not
enough evidence to support the safety, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of PSH (puberty suppressing hormones) to make the treatment routinely available at this time."
- NHS England Image People whined about them not following WPATH, NHSE: "does not commission based upon guidelines or treatment protocols eg WPATH 8.0 or practices in other countries... [we] concluded based on insufficient clinical benefit to the patient of which evidence of harm is one aspect."

I know Vox is pretty much as far away from actual journalism as you can get but even so saying "Let’s let her speak for herself" then not including more than a couple of sentences of her own words is really quite something. >
vox.com/culture/236226… It begins with the lie JKR has insisted transwomen are inherently dangerous and a claim it's difficult to build a comprehensive TL of transphobia, because it's rampant and constant but also hidden in dog whistles and her identity. This tells you everything you need to know. >i

I'm really grateful to @terfasaurus for saying this. Tbh I'm a bit ashamed I haven't spoken up so directly but I'm not ashamed to say I don't have the resilience to deal with the hostility speaking up can invite right now. I'm sure lots of women feel the same. So, respect. 💪♥️ I'm going to add now I think robust disagreement and snark are one thing, deliberately lying about and working with your mates to obsessively character assassinate a woman are another.

That crazy Jennifer has spent 'all night* subjecting to me to the most appalling attacks. What the actual fuck is her problem? She's unnecessarily horrendous. Of course there's more...

Just catching up on the GRR debate. Shona Robison's opening speech makes me feel like I'm living in clown world. They're so detached from reality. The convener of the committee is just like "if it's a problem or something we might have to actually think about then it's most definitely outwith our remit."

Can't begin to say how bored I am of people trying to impose purity spirals on feminism. Honestly. I love the analysis of JCJ and Julia Long who since back in the day have been total beacons. I think WPUK have the most impactful political strategy and I bloody love FPFW. > I think WRN are doing a fantastic job of bringing women together and SFW in person meet ups are important to women too. LWD and their other party equivalents, goddess knows they're needed. >

So Fiona got really angry at the "disinformation" in media headlines that referred to the new service specifications for kids with gender dysphoria that's out for consultation, because they suggested it's probably a phase and she contacted the NHS media team. > Image She claimed the NHS said they were misquoted and was waiting for written confirmation. She received a written response but it did not say they were misquoted. In fact it didn't cover the specific claim she is angry about at all. Just signposted to further info. > ImageImageImage

To recap. The consultation on Interim service specification for specialist gender dysphoria services for children and young people is open, it closes on 4 December. There's significant movement in the right direction. engage.england.nhs.uk/specialised-co… On the very first page it states:
"The primary intervention for children and young people who are assessed as
suitable for The Service is psychosocial (including psychoeducation) and
psychological support and intervention."

This is a very significant statement.

The NHS has published its new service specifications for kids with gender dysphoria. They state its primary purpose is psychosocial/psychological interventions. This is huge. Mermaids/Maugham/Webberley are furious. I can't understand why more people aren't talking about it. > ImageImageImageImage Seriously. More people are liking my tweet slagging off Billy Bragg than my tweets about this huge improvement in approach to care provision for kids experiencing gender dysphoria. I don't have the words for how depressing that is. >
