He voted to increase the LAPD budget by $100M (and add 950 cops) and then — just three days later — filmed a video at the “Radical Walking Tour” event in memory of Mike Davis.

A cop raided a house, took a guy away in handcuffs and dropped him in a rival gang territory. He was immediately murdered.

The cop did not mention the handcuffing and driving the guy in the report of the raid. Murder & coverup, right?

Should the public know this cop’s identity? This cop and his partner killed an unarmed man (fired over a dozen times) leading to a lawsuit settlement.

Should the public be able to identify him?

I filed a complaint against a cop for failure to ID. The LAPD did NOT sustain it. Now, the LAPD admits they got it wrong.

I filed a complaint on the Captain and Dep Chief who reviewed the complaint before throwing it out. The LAPD did NOT sustain those complaints, either. Head of Internal Affairs called me last night. He and a lieutenant tried explaining why they did not sustain the complaints against Captain Gillani and Dep Chief Chow. They said since it wasn’t done on purpose, it’s non-disciplinary.

There was no point in electing the progressive slate of candidates last year. They’re all as shady as their predecessors. People like David Ryu, Mitch O’Farrell and Gil Cedillo actually voted to cut the police budget — something their replacements will never do.

That isn’t praise for Mitch, David & Gil. That’s condemnation of Hugo, Nithya & Eunisses — who criticized their predecessors on policing.

This is Angie.

The City of LA’s negligence and incompetence killed her.

Angie was recovering from a previous aneurysm and under doctor’s orders to avoid stress. She lived at an encampment in Harbor City. Angie collapsed during a SWEEP after spending all night moving her stuff.

LAPD at the scene called it in as an “OD.” It was NOT an OD. She was having a MASSIVE aneurysm.

Chad Loder was there and told the LAPD — repeatedly — that Angie was NOT overdosing. Chad told the cops about Angie’s aneurysm history. She was showing brain injury signs. Not OD.
