For a while now I have been (over) thinking about the news both here and elsewhere. From @simonmaginn's #ItWasAScam to Myanmar and the Ukraine, via drag queen story time and the terf wars, one thing has emerged that can truly be described as infesting, riddling, endemic. That thing is hatred. Primarily hatred, but flavoured with suspicion, fear, ignorance, lies and inhumanity. Hate. Its about hate. We (not the royal one) have been screamed at, pummeled, battered, accused over and over of irrational bigoted hatred. The oldest of the worst hatreds. Hatred of people based on their faith/religion/ethnicity. Fomenting hatred. Encouraging hatred. Allowing Hatred. Condoning hatred. And we're far from being the only ones. In my lifetime I have never experienced a government that even remotely represented my interests or my safety. So. 'Labour antisemitism'. Yes, parentheses. Why? Because the whole 'argument' has been spun, twisted, argued and 'debated' into peak inversion. I suspect I am not alone in being curious as to how low it would go. I think we're nearly there. Today I saw someone accuse someone else of being antisemitic. They used the expression 'Jew hater'. Their proof of the accusation was that they had issued the accusation. In other words, proof, or anything approaching proof, is no longer needed.
